General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I have had my car not re-start twice when it’s been getting hot from booting it or getting stuck in traffic. Yesterday when I was driving to get some new tyres, I was following my mate who was flat out everywhere showing off in his Astra GTE. I needed to boost a bit to keep up, when I stopped, I idled it for about 2 minuets before tuning it off. I had to restart it to drive into the garage and all it did was turnover and there was a lot of fuel coming from the exhaust (over fuelling). After about 30 minutes it started on the button and was fine. Does anyone have any ideas or have had this problem before. P.S. blow away a Supra 3.0l Twin Turbo last night, He He He He …

Hi guys it's me again ;0) good chance I'm getting turbos done next week... my outside with more powerful turbos inside...I'll have more technical specs later on.... QUESTION: Putting bigger turbos in my car what do you suggest I sould get as minimum monitoring wise? I mean should I get a variable boostcotnrol? An extra turbo-boost gauge? any help appreciated thanks

I am picking up my 300zx twin turbo Wednesday night its been imported straight fom japan when i phoned the dealer to get the reg for insurance he tells me its been registered on an F plate its an 89 model but new shape 300s dont come on an F the look of it doesnt bother me as its going on a private plate but does this sound normal to you or are they ripping me off?

Drivers Window stopped working!!!!! Took the window switch out the other day to see if the connection was lose,got instuctions from Stuart.Going to get the door panel off too. What do i check, what am i looking for to get my window working again.... PS. Passenger window is working fine & i can hear the switch relay working on the drivers side, but window does'nt move. When I floor it I seem to get a bit of torque steering from the car and have to correct it with the steering wheel. At my MOT it said slight play at rear wheels but not excessive. My tyre waer at the front has been hammering the inside 2 inches of the tread and am wondering if its the rear play, or maybe the shocks or springs going a bit soft and allowing a bit of 'squat' on one side of the car under heavy acceleration.... anyone experienced this?? Thanks.

Well guyZ its official - stripped down the drivers side today to check out the turbo and sure enough its seized This is the tell tale sign.... As you can see on full throttle there's 0psi of boost - the car feels slower than a brick Compressor wheel is locked solid so.... Good chance to fit de-cat pipes though so there's a bonus. The question is though, how far to go with the turbos??? Want some scope for future mods etc so what have you guyz experiences been with different ones??? Would be grateful of price details etc... hi all, my 1st post here! decided to by a 300zx tt, came across this site and have a few questions. 1, I want a uk model, for insurance reasons, was the twin turbo the only uk engine type or was the non turbo available here too? also body type, was the swb 2 seater available in the uk? 2, performance & econamy figures, Iv seen the official figures, but what about real world stuff - what u all gettin? 3, iv seen a model for sale cheap with noisey tappets, anyone done this? cost, ease of job? (im a technician for Merc so i dont have a problem if it is a big job) thanks in advance.

Anyone know if it is possible to get uprated springs which do not lower the car's ride height? Cheerz Dave

Finished work early today to take my freshly kitted and painted Z out for a 'little run' I only got 2 miles down the road when the car jerked, then lost all pressure on the clutch pedal. It now travels all the way to the floor without effort (and LEONARDO knows how stiff my clutch is!) It is a bit stiffer when the power is off. Any ideas as to what the problem may be? More importantly, is it going to cost big to fix it ? Cheerz Dave
