Uh oh! What have I done???

Right as some of you are aware I've tracked my oil leak down!

Looking at the service manual which shows great diagrams of the oil flow round the motor, it would appear to be the Turbo oil feed return to the sump as somebody else suggested! wink.gif

So I've booked it into my very local Nelson Mandella for Saturday morning. Errr, this is not the Abergele Nissan dealer who are OK with 300's but I'm talking Dukes of Anglesey County Nissan Main Delia! GULP!

These guys have real trouble booking you in using English FFS!!! biggrin.gif

I've told them I know where the leak is coming from, all they have to do is assess and order the relevant part(s) needed to fix it. OK they said! Hmmmm. We'll see then.

I can hear the conversation at the service desk now :-

"Don't worry sir, the car will be fine. Never seen one in that condition before, someone had actually added a couple of spare cylinders on the front, so we removed those and now it's back to standard. That's probably why you had so little room under the bonnet. We also found someone had installed two extra radiators but not plumbed them in to the main one, so just be on the safe side we did that to keep the temp down, so you'll be fine now and don't worry the bill isn't too big, it only took 3 days at £55 +VAT per hour. It is making a funny hissing noise, but they all do that, it's something to do with the turbo dump valves and I'm sure it'll quieten down over time. We also noticed that your rear wheels move a bit sometimes, so we just welded that up for you"

"FECK !!!!"

LMFAO and while we are at it here is the bill sir £436645536437586734635356 please call again and enjoy your drive home biggrin.gif.

Well just thought I'd start them off on something relatively simple first! Before letting them loose on the rear gearbox mount etc.

I know, people are thinking "He's changed the oil and he's got a leak???" but it only really pisses out big time when I floor it! Which is quite rare, in fact haven't had to push pedal to the metal since coming back from SE chipped.

Kept up with Porch boy yesterday on mild kick down, not even with the O/D off! Large! wink.gif

Stock boost aswell...even more of a bonus.

biggrin.gif

You dumped oil into your boot? At least I managed to get mine into the engine matey...LMFAO biggrin.gif

timmy so sure it is the oil return from the turbo. just checked mine while i was stripping the turbos off the head. let me know anyways!

JEZZ know how it feels m8, emptied half a gallon of magnatec in the boot of my soup today just bought a brand new bottle as well, FFS!!!

Latz

Latz, was it one of those tubs with a spaggy new lid?

I have bought 3 5l tubs for my mate from makro £5.99+VAT Was one of these that empties itself. Wanker!!

Oh makro were/are selling Magnatec for £10.50+VAT on offer, I think it ended today though, but they run the offer every 2 months or so. Bargin, if you are into that kinda thing.

Jezz.

Magnatec is a bloody good oil!!! My car rattles a bit under load, don't think it's detting but I reckon this fully synthetic malarkey is over rated to be honest! Too bloody thin.

Might get mine flushed at the next change and then have it re-filled with Maggers plays pop instead. wink.gif

I got some Mobil 1 15/50 fully synth to go in. One day soon, next week perhaps.

I don't want to put it in before the Top Speed Challenge thing incase a con rod goes through my block or sump, would be a waste of £25's of good oil. smile.gif

Timmy - it aint the type of oil (fully synth/semi etc) that dictates the viscosity m8 wink.gif Two entirely seperate things...

CheerZ,

Andy

what a fookin wanky design. ended up pouring half of it over the soup engine today "designed to reduce spillage" my fuckin arse

LOL

Latz

tim,

its not the standard of the work u should worry about, or the price,.. its when you look at your reciept and it says on the bottom....ROAD TESTED....means the bastards screwed the arse off it for you...

I always use a funnel to get it in the engine, can't be doing with that lovely smell of burning oil at every traffic light.

Cheers for pointing that out mate, god you guys have far too much time on your hands! LOL biggrin.gif

What I was really thinking was that I've used Magnatec on two out of three turbo cars and never had a problem. So really wanna go back to what I trust! wink.gif

Nope! They won't be road testing it Steve, as I will be under the lift showing them where the leak is coming from(where I think it's coming from) and then I will watch them while they take it off the lift and park it up mate.
