The big ends went in my car so decided to replace the engine. but after running it with the big ends gone it developed another fault. the engine stalled and when i restarted it, it was knocking terrible and had no power at all. could not get over 30mph. it is knocking from the top. it sounds like it is just under the plenum on the left in the middle. any idea what this could be

Alloy or steel?

Anyone know of anyways to get to the Det sensor at all, if engine is not out ?? Upper Plenum will be coming off as will the gearbox ( not mine :) ) Cheers smithy

Right!!! The time has come for me to remove my aircon!!! I need the extra cooling into my rad cause of the boost my Z is running now and this time of year I don't like what my temp guage is showing after a long run so it's gotta go!!! The aircon is out of gas anyway and always has been in the 4 years i've had my Z.. Never gets used and when it's sunny the roof comes off!!! :D Is there a thread on here or on 300zx.org that tells you how to do this as I wanna remove the whole lot, aircon rad, compressor, pullys and everything associated with it to save weight too... I guess the front rad is easy but is the rest of it like everything else on the Z a prick to …

my power steering keeps tripping in and out too - however the speedo doesn't seem to be affected, I have had the soleniod hard-wired by zedworld to eliminate dodgy connection. also contact cleaner sprayed in connections to speed sender, though connection looks good. I thought it could be speed related, but sometimes you can sit at idle and the seering suddenly goes hard, I wondered wether it could be the solenoid but re-starting the car many times has no affect so I'm puzzled? it was suggested that it coulds be pump related as there is apparently a valvle inside the pump that could get clocked?

ok, i give in, after an hour in the garage i have yet to learn what is holding the rear spoiler on!! is it bonded or have i not removed enough internal trim panels to find the fasteners??

I only have the red 'valet' key for my Z32 and it has a 4 digit code on it. Is it possible to obtain a 'full' key that will also open/lock the glove compartment? Dave

Help, I keep getting this message in pest patrol, I click delete the pest from the disk too and click terminate but every few minutes it pops back up again, how the hell do I remove it ? I cant find the file in the folder it's refering to or se it in the processes window in task manager CheerZ Paul

I first noticed this pulling away from a petrol station the other day. When I turned the ignition the car was sqealing at me. It had a certain rythm to it so I'd guess it was some sort of belt or basically something that goes round and round. Anyway it went away after about 20 seconds. Any ideas? Im not sure if it will do it again because It was the last time I drove it before I went on holiday and I can't drivwe it yet since I gave my sister the keys to look after. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Al

Hellow folks, i just bought a zx 300 had the believe that its not as powerful as i expected it to be, so i took it for someone to have alook at it for me.He ran a diagnostic test for me and said that it is not pushing the right amount of bhp, its doing about 190bhp at the moment and it should do about 220bhp,he also said that might be due to beceuse of a knock sensor so it thats the case how much will it cost to change the sensor ? and what else might it to lost soo much power? :headvswal

Hi all, Am thinking of sellign my zed, but not sure how much it's worth as it's quite a rare spec/age. I spent nearly 7k importing it in late 2004 / early 2005, and I'm the only UK owner. I would like to think that it's worth around 6k, but not sure if that's realistic, as it's a NA auto. I have decided to take Thursday off of work and try to travel around looking at a few Z's with a view to buying one. I have up to £4k to spend and would like to get a good one. Does anybody have one for sale at the moment N/A or TT that fits the bill? I am based in the South East but will aim to cover a lot of miles on Thursday! Let me know

As I had mine off, gave them to the maties in the polishing bay at work and they said it was sh1te material and wont polish very good. But you lot have done it, so what have you done?

Team, Just got racelogic traction control :bow: and the the new blitz boost controller thing fitted and really really pleased with them both :bow: The SBCi is cool the way it consolidates all the info into one small unit avoidin the "i'm flying a tornado dial-fest look at the number of dials i got!" so peeps............. On the SBCi box it lists many monitoring functions beyond the basic boost, revs etc. It lists an optional cable for further sensors etc. So my question a) Anyone Else got one fitted? and b) Have you got your additional sensors connected? and c) Anyone sell the additional harness I need? just noticed my car doesnt have anything that will suport the cd player. What are you guys useing as mines a tad loose

hi all just done the ecu check and am getting code 34. has anynoe done the det sensor bypass and if so were did you get yor resistor,tryed maplins but thay only do a 1k not 1000k which i need.

Does the engine have to come out for the turbos to be removed

To change the autobox oil and clean filter id like to do it myself :eek: ive done little things on the z but this ill call my biggest :) .

On my way to USC this weekend (brilliant time btw) pulled in to a layby, and when i pulled out hard i lost 3rd and 4th gear!! car would not change into 3rd at all. took it very easy got to the pod, left it parked up till sunday. Left the pod and gingerly put my foot down and lo and behold everythng is fine!!???!?!?!?!?! any ideas.. was thinking about maybe draining the trans oil from the sump under the gearbox and refreshing it do you think this would help?? thanks in anticipation...
