Whilst fitting my time delay relay for the interior light i had to modify mr nissans connector but am now wondering if it was the right thing to do. The 2 door switches and the boot switch are all wired to a connector in the passenger side rear 1/4. They then go via a set of diodes into the interior light relay. My new relay just wouldnt trigger with the diodes in place, but as soon as i removed them it triggered fine. Ive removed the diodes and all seemed well, but it got me thinking, why did mr nissan fit them? Ive started to wonder if its an attempt to stop an earth leak through the relay. My speedo is still in Kmh at the moment, and I also have a Defi Sports head up display that does speed in Kmh only! I think the car has been de-limited as I can go off the clock. There are 2 things I don't understand, 1/ Why was the car not converted from Kmh to Mph, I thought this was always done when de-limiting? 2/ How come my Defi gives a completely different Kmh reading to that of my speedo, it seems well down?

hi all my car has picked up ap strange habit, when i start it from cold its fine, i will get to the bottom of my road about half a mile (driving v steady and on no boost at all) , where there are some traffic lights if i stop at them my car then starts to smoke vast amounts of blue smoke, if i then pick up the revs to about 2-3k it will stop but come back as soon as it drops back to idle. after 5 minutes or so when the car is warm it stops all together, and drives perfect no smoke and boost is fine and it pulls like a train, the car is a uk tt manual. with 66k on the clock pcv have been changed some time ago any ideas people? rich

I saw some time ago either a thread on here or a link to another site on how to repair the passenger side power window switch. One of the tabs on mine has broken and sticks up a bit and the 'bodge' I saw involved the use of a crimp connector but I can't find it. Has anyone else see it and know where it is ? CheerZ Paul

who has done their own clear rear light conversion? ive just pulled mine apart and im going to use the plastic from a strip light diffuser due to the fact that im currently poor and i dont wanna wait because i have no patience. when inserting your newly cut light diffuser do you attach it to the place the original come out of or to the actual clear lense itself? i have notice the originals are slightly curved.

Simple questions on changes made to the Zed design during its production. 1. Is series 2 from 93 onwards? 2. What are the differences from series 1 to 2? 3. Was there any further changes after series 2? 4. what does 99 spec mean? 5. when did Zed’s get airbags, and is it just one drivers side one? 5. I have seen some Zed’s with 2 point seatbelts in the back and some with 3 point belts. When did this change happen? Or is it a Jap/UK difference? If someone could colour in the gaps and give me a full potted history of changes made during the design life of the car and differences in Jap and UK models, that would be great.

hey, just got back from a nice week down in Devon. stayed in a lovely small town called Dartmouth and saw two lovely 300s. one was a black TT camping in a small village called Stoke Flemming and it really was in lovely condition. its number plate started M300. the other 300 was red with gold alloys, really did like the looks of this car, didnt think that gold alloys would suit that colour but it really did look nice. just wanna say hi and like the car!

These kits are advertised on E Bay for £53. They look pretty good but has anyone on the forum bought one? If so, are they recommended? I presume they are a sod to fit but I have already used a leather kit to redo my seats and am very pleased with the results so am not fussed about some time consuming work.

Does anyone run their Zed with these? -40mm aren't they? I've fitted H&R springs to a Cavalier GSi I had many moons ago and was grately impressed. Similar level of ride to Eibach.

I have on my 300 what seems to be a small leak on the top of my pas resivoir and the hicas light is on but it does go off now and again. Anyone got any ideas what could cause this as the seal seems ok?? Would this make the hicas light come on?? Is this anything to do with the speed sensor?? or a totally different fault?? Thanks in advance for any help.

Good evening everyone, I've got a small problem with my Z when i get to 140 mph it hits some kind of limiter, the speedo shuts down and i lose my steering, Scared the hell out of me ended up inches away from the central reservation. when i slow down to 30mph the speedo kicks back in and works ok but I dont get my steering till i stop & restart the engine. I dont get any dash warning lights or anything. any ideas?

Anyone out there know anything about the Z wiring ...... Been having TPS voltage problems. Datascan shows a reading of 0.92V minimum even with a new TPS installed. Anyway today I get my multimeter on the TPS and the output voltage is spot on 0.44V :confused: , so now I'm thinking there is an ECU fault. So I take the ECU out to check for any obvious wiring issues, but it's not like there's anything to really look at, put it all back start the car and get the datascan on it. Go to the engone bay to measure the voltage again and the car suddenly dies whilst I'm not fiddling with anything and now it won't start :cry: Is there anything obvious I can check for ????…

Hi I have recently got a 1990 import 300zx tt, never owned anything like it before, has always been my dream car but i know little about them. It had a water problem that i seem to have fixed by changing the rad cap but it has also been loosing power. When i put my foot to the floor for more than 5-7 seconds she looses power as if something is holding it back, if i take my foot off the accelerator and put it back on it's fine, it will rev right up the rev range. It happens everytime i floor it for any lengh of time. I do have a non working speedo at the moment, i have got a speed sensor to fit and i'm intending to look for any loose or bad connections, could this…

i had to face up a bit on reality .. since my zed auto trans went belly up ive been torn apart .. a manual coversion for me would cost too much .. seeing im not really a mechanic per se i would have had to rely on others .. make a long story short i worked out a deal with my friend who has a manual box from his wreck so im doing a trade for a prelude and let him have the zed and do the gear box change , its easy for him he,s a mechanic and body man,, . well he took the plunge and have already replace the gear box but his problem is what to do with all the wires left from the auto.. any adv appreciated.. :headvswal :mad:
