Well I just plumbed in a mechanical gauge and started her up. Noise starts just as pressure builds up and it only reaches 50psi from cold. Should be more like 90-100, so 99% sure its the oil pump now!!!! Just gotta order bits up and do the job now.

Hi Friday, Could you post your photos of your battery relocation and any notes you have which may help, did you have an emergency charge point or anything like that? Also, a few of your engine would go down a treat! Cheers fella, John

Hi all, Rite here goes, ive had a leak comin from my passenger intake pulley, at first we put it down to a cam seal but later found out by trail and error that it's leakin from the pulley itself, i know this cause the cam seal is bone dry and its the third pulley ive had on!! :headvswal Heres the interesting bit each pulley that has started to leak, when u have it off and in ur both ur hands ur able to turn it, as in the centre of the pulley can turn within itself, so diff to explain without actually seein it, but before i put them on they were solid u couldnt turn the centre of them!! So my question is how in the name of fryer r they doin this!?! Its almost …

Hi all, Just purchased a gorgeous 300 (Wanted one for ages but always to much for me!) Anyway shes no minter yet although she comes with a full engine rebuild including 2 new turbo's, pistons, a bit of head work, HKS filter, high rise spoiler, digital boost gauge and a full blow over on the point. Well the paint work needs redoing so thats first, brakes are rubish and calipers seized so i have purchased standard rears and EBC front pads and discs. Really need to source new calipers though! Any ideas would be great. I want some wheels, love the mania ones in 18 or 19, want to lower her, later front end, and give a couple of engine mods for a bit more power. Basical…

Right, I got some new drilled and slotted front brake disks for the zed, size of 280mm x 30mm, its a 93 swb tt, now then heres me thinking that it would be an easy swap, but no, they're too small! when I fit the caliper theres only half the pad covering the disk, now I chucked the old disks last weekend and did the job this weekend, so now I wish I kept the old ones to measure them, but looking at the caliper in place the old disk must have been 300mm around about, these were not aftermarket disks or calipers either, they're nissan calipers. My question is, do the swb tt's have bigger disks than the lwb's, I thought all were 280mm across, but it seems that they'…

Hi, Today my car started to run really rough. When idling, the revs stay fairly straight for around 10 seconds, then will strugle for about 10 seconds as it slowly sorts itself out. I put datascan on it, and it all looks ok appart from the A/F Base that seems to sit at 100, then for a fraction of a second, flick to 125. As soon as it hits 125 it starts to struggle. While I'm driving, I stick my foot down and it struggles and back fires, then picks up? Has anyone got any ideas? I just filled it with the new Shell V-Power gas yesturday if that helps. Cheers, Bart..

Hello all I am thinking of buying a Z which is why I joined this group, reason for wanting this car - I have trimmed a few interiors for other people and like what I saw. My problem - not knowing how to tell a good buy from a bad buy. If anyone can offer some basic what to look for advice I would be greatfull. In the meantime I will keep browsing the forums picking up what knowledge I can.

I would like to replace the exhaust on my 1995 N/A with a Stainless Steel system but don't understand some of the lingo used for them. I understand what a 'cat' is but what is a 'de-cat' and a 'cat-back'? I am not looking for a high performance exhaust, just one that will last for ever (SS) and sounds really sporty but legal. Dave

  17. been having probs with power steering (previous post) have now removed speedo converter and put back to kmh, the speedo was tripping on and off and also the power steering, sometimes together, sometimes independant, i come to conclusion that it was conversion box, however this is now removed (the printed board was cut out before speed signal got to speedo, looped through box and back to speedo, i disconnected both live and earth from speedo converter and connected the 2 signal wires together thus connecting the speedo to the printed board before the signal was cut out. the speedo when running now runs in kmh, however power steering still cuts out, sometimes the speedo is …

  19. I had Bridgestone Winter tyres on my car and replaced them with four Falken 452's. Wow, what a difference, they are awesome. They grip so well, are great in the wet and are a lot quieter. Very happy. After taking off the 3 month old Bridgestones to replace with the Falkens, I noticed a lot of wear on all four tyres. So I have just been down to 'Elite Direct' in Essex to get a full suspension diagnostic check done. It is an amazing place, everyone were nice and extremely knowledgeable. They also had some awesome cars booked in including a Skyline GTR33. Note: I have Tein Coilover height adjustable suspension. The results of my suspensio…

  20. How do you know when your reaching the limits of your engine, turbo's, injectors etc? and how do you know how much pressure to run turbo's at? For example, I install new 530bb Turbo's, 555 inj etc, how do you know which will max out first? Before something breaks. Hope that makes sense lol Thanks Barry

  24. Just got it back after and engine out job to replace the turbos after the driver side one siezed. Seems to have the power back but the boost gauge no longer works it just goes to the middle when switched on and the engine is also hunting at tickover. If I detach the vacuum pipe that goes from the balance pipe to the gubbins on the firewall beside the brake servo and put a finger over the balance pipe connection on the plenum it ticks over and runs beautifully. Its as if its got an air leak but it hasnt. If I blow up that small hose to the gubbins where I suspect the boost guage sensor also is I get no air leaks. If I suck when the engine is running the en…
