Finally got my Zed back on the road!! Just in time for the show season..... wait a minute.... :confused1: Washed and insured it today Had Nistune set up on rolling road and getting 409.9 bhp. The Turbo Timer wasn't working properly so he had to back off towards where full boost would be, but said it should be around 450 once I get that sorted. Looks shiny on the pics but got some tree sap and a few swirls from when it was stored at a mates garage, Will do a proper valet and remove the sap and get some coats of wax on ready for the winter (although won't drive it much as its a second car). It's getting closer to needing a respray anyway. Als…

Ok bit of an old thread now but may well be of interest to newer members who have not seen it or anyone who has not searched the topic. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?121328-Real-world-zed-fault-cause-s&highlight=real+world+faults Also as a reminder there are plenty of tech threads to find mostly with pictures that I posted over the years, just search JeffTT in advance and hopefully be of interest. After listening to some really lame excuses from a couple of key shops I finally found a shop locally to cut my new titanium keys. The best excuse I got was "it's a car key if we screw it up we have to buy the new electronic key from the dealer so we don't do them!!!!!!! Errr look at the key buddy do you see a transponder, I replied.....He looked and said "I'm still not cutting it" bloody dosh bag. Anyway all done now

I am looking to replace my suspension to make the Z sit a little lower without compromising too much on ride quality, it is mainly for road use only. Currently I looking at three options. In order of preference. 1) HSD Coilovers 2) TEIN Street Flex Coilover System 3) BC Racing Type BR Coilovers http://www.driftworks.com/hsd-coilovers-nissan-300zx-and-350z-z32-z33.html https://www.z1motorsports.com/suspension/tein/tein-street-flex-coilover-system-p-142.html https://www.z1motorsports.com/suspension/bc-racing/bc-racing-type-br-coilovers-free-shipping-p-5567.html Another alternative may be to replace just with lowering springs https://w…

What is a ideal Alloy size. I am currently considering the Rota Grid's http://www.driftworks.com/rota-grid-drift-18-wheels.html but wondering is 9.5" front and 10" rear is being too ambitious. I was thinking ET 35 18" 10 wide for rear and 18" ET 20 9.5 for front. I do have upgraded brakes and expect this wheels would clear. Also the question about 19" work and how do they look? Any pics and suggestions will be appreciated. I do not mind rolling the arches and camber adjustment etc. I do not want the camber to be out. Intend to use HSD Coil overs. I am not fully decided on the Rota Grids and looking at other options.

As above, what is likely to be the cause of the CAS appearing to wobble slightly while the engine is running? My first port of call was to pinch up the the three bolts - which resulting in one snapping with the slightest tweak! So if anyone has a CAS bolt going spare please let me know as my local fasteners shop provided the closest match they had which doesn't fit. Also, does anybody know if this is likely to be the cause of my car struggling to idle? It idles terribly and I'm aware it has an exhaust leak and possibly a few boost leaks but I didn't expect it to affect it like this especially as it seems to rev cleanly(ish). My thoughts were that the CAS reading is l…

So, I've been painting lot of parts, and its been going well. Thing is I've painted the door handles twice now, and I'm going to need to do them again! When I operate the handle, it scratches the body of the handle, as can be seen in the pic - This happens with both handles. The first time there was a lot of debris from sanding etc stuck behind the handle. However I cleared this out and repainted, but same thing has happend albeit not as bad. It's crazy we're only taking a few microns of paint!! So, what I want to do is take the handle out of the body and grind some metal from the back, ans generally smooth it out. Thing is it doesn't l…

Didn't know what this was going to be like but well worth the 6.00am on a Sunday morning start to meet with my friends then convoy down from Bath via Frome , Warminster , To Wilton House near Salisbury. We arrived early enough and luckily were able to park in the main court yard along with some awesome cars. Here are a few pics.

Hi all as per my previous threads my cars been off the road For several years for an engine swap. This is now done and Runs ok. The clutch and box were fine. Although in the last Few months it's been sat the clutch pedal now goes straight To the floor with no resistance. I've changed the master Cylinder for a brand new genuine item and a new slave also. It's bleed up alright as per manual on both nipped. It feels Like a good clutch but start it up and it's back to square one Straight down to the floor and can't select any gears. Can't see Any obvious leaks and everything is tight. Can't find or hear and air leaks Whilst clutch is being depresse…

Finally finished replacing my clutch last night after no end of problems, but when I took it for a short drive this morning it's making a weird noise when you work the clutch, kind of like a grinding. Depressed it's fine, but still makes a bit of a noise when pressed. Kind of sounds like the release bearing but I put a new one in so don't really see how it could be that. Pretty gutted after it's taken me far longer than it should have done, any ideas what it is? Should I not worry about it for now and see if it clears with a few more miles on it?

The cruise control has never worked on my car. It has been converted from auto to manual prior to me buying it. I've only checked the fuse so far. I wondered if it might just be a case of bridging the wires that go to the auto ecu? Or maybe someone has some other suggestions? My reverse light doesn't work either, and I wondered if this might be related?
