Hi all I'm starting to think about my next round of upgrades/restoration parts I'm sure several of my injectors are blocked/stuck open which I'm quite sure is my own stupid fault for not cleaning out the fuel line before connecting it all up. I already replaced one as I has a misfire. Replacing them is no big deal but I'm wondering what to replace them with. Stock would be the most simple/ cheap as they will drop in and require no chip etc but will not give me any future proofing 550 nismos would be great as they drop in but require an obvious remap- they would have enough capacity for me I think but are real expensive 750 nismo/ jecs etc wou…

I have just had the pleasure in collecting my zed up from Jimmer at powerzed toady. it had all the suspension changed and full big brakes set up - service, mot and ebc fitted plus a host of jobs that he picked up on that would have caused issues in the future. I have to say I am well pleased with everything Jim has done - it is by far the best service I have ever received in my life - communication and attention to details was outstanding - pictures taken at various stages - The car drove better than it has ever before. Would recommend Powerzed to everyone - well worth the 2 hour drive each way. Many thanks Jim for all your hard work kindest regards dave

So my cousin has bought this. He is looking after my zed atm too so has an awesome driveway. Problem is he bought is a bit blind, it seems a really good car but we don't know anything more than this advert. (It was a suprise to me by the way I knew nothing till the picture came through) Im a but concerned that it has an aftermarket turbo, exhaust and intercooler and hasn't been mapped at all. And it has BOVs. I will be grateful for any advice or knowledge you guys may have to help us make this car all it can be. Thanks.

  6. Alright guys. Had this problem recently where my passenger cluster rear light's won't work... after a bit they turn on. I have just looked at the light sensor thing and I have noticed it smells like slight burning and also I notice it's slightly brown on both sides near the resistor? Could this be the cause?

  7. Hi all, With all the body work mods I also wanted to make the Z feel more like most big luxurious cars. Cutting out road noise as well as making the car feel more solid. Also by having 12j and 10j wide tyres, poly/solid bushes though out and quaife diff/leader gear set up I was experiencing droning from the straight cut leader gear and more road noise from the tyre's. So I set out to fully sound deadening the car using 2 types of sound deadening. I used: Silent Coat 2mm Damping Mat uses mass loading to lower panel resonance and absorb structural vibrations, Stop those nasty rattles, eliminate road and outside noise, insulate your vehicle and dramatically imp…

Was out having fun in the car last week until it decided to keep going forwards in traffic when I put my foot on the clutch lol... I had launched it quite heavily a minute or so before but now it's broke :( Getting it on the ramp tomorrow to see what the hell has happened to it - the clutch presses down and the slave appears to be moving the normal amount - but I cannot select any gears with the engine running. The only way to move the car is by starting in gear and letting it roll forwards then start driving but only in that gear. So I was wondering what might have gone wrong? Snapped fork maybe? Any thoughts guys?

Finally got my Zed back on the road!! Just in time for the show season..... wait a minute.... :confused1: Washed and insured it today Had Nistune set up on rolling road and getting 409.9 bhp. The Turbo Timer wasn't working properly so he had to back off towards where full boost would be, but said it should be around 450 once I get that sorted. Looks shiny on the pics but got some tree sap and a few swirls from when it was stored at a mates garage, Will do a proper valet and remove the sap and get some coats of wax on ready for the winter (although won't drive it much as its a second car). It's getting closer to needing a respray anyway. Als…

Ok bit of an old thread now but may well be of interest to newer members who have not seen it or anyone who has not searched the topic. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?121328-Real-world-zed-fault-cause-s&highlight=real+world+faults Also as a reminder there are plenty of tech threads to find mostly with pictures that I posted over the years, just search JeffTT in advance and hopefully be of interest. After listening to some really lame excuses from a couple of key shops I finally found a shop locally to cut my new titanium keys. The best excuse I got was "it's a car key if we screw it up we have to buy the new electronic key from the dealer so we don't do them!!!!!!! Errr look at the key buddy do you see a transponder, I replied.....He looked and said "I'm still not cutting it" bloody dosh bag. Anyway all done now

I am looking to replace my suspension to make the Z sit a little lower without compromising too much on ride quality, it is mainly for road use only. Currently I looking at three options. In order of preference. 1) HSD Coilovers 2) TEIN Street Flex Coilover System 3) BC Racing Type BR Coilovers http://www.driftworks.com/hsd-coilovers-nissan-300zx-and-350z-z32-z33.html https://www.z1motorsports.com/suspension/tein/tein-street-flex-coilover-system-p-142.html https://www.z1motorsports.com/suspension/bc-racing/bc-racing-type-br-coilovers-free-shipping-p-5567.html Another alternative may be to replace just with lowering springs https://w…

  21. What is a ideal Alloy size. I am currently considering the Rota Grid's http://www.driftworks.com/rota-grid-drift-18-wheels.html but wondering is 9.5" front and 10" rear is being too ambitious. I was thinking ET 35 18" 10 wide for rear and 18" ET 20 9.5 for front. I do have upgraded brakes and expect this wheels would clear. Also the question about 19" work and how do they look? Any pics and suggestions will be appreciated. I do not mind rolling the arches and camber adjustment etc. I do not want the camber to be out. Intend to use HSD Coil overs. I am not fully decided on the Rota Grids and looking at other options.

As above, what is likely to be the cause of the CAS appearing to wobble slightly while the engine is running? My first port of call was to pinch up the the three bolts - which resulting in one snapping with the slightest tweak! So if anyone has a CAS bolt going spare please let me know as my local fasteners shop provided the closest match they had which doesn't fit. Also, does anybody know if this is likely to be the cause of my car struggling to idle? It idles terribly and I'm aware it has an exhaust leak and possibly a few boost leaks but I didn't expect it to affect it like this especially as it seems to rev cleanly(ish). My thoughts were that the CAS reading is l…

  25. So, I've been painting lot of parts, and its been going well. Thing is I've painted the door handles twice now, and I'm going to need to do them again! When I operate the handle, it scratches the body of the handle, as can be seen in the pic - This happens with both handles. The first time there was a lot of debris from sanding etc stuck behind the handle. However I cleared this out and repainted, but same thing has happend albeit not as bad. It's crazy we're only taking a few microns of paint!! So, what I want to do is take the handle out of the body and grind some metal from the back, ans generally smooth it out. Thing is it doesn't l…
