General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Someone with experience who can give med recommendations for optimal turbos for my TT? Except from turbos, the engine is fully prepared for 800 BHP. Mid-range working area for the turbos is preferred: not too early and not too late.

What size is the top rad pipe please? I need to get a coupling so that I can wire in my temp gauge properly, at the moment I've got both temperature gauges wired into the stock sender unit. :nono:

for a while now ive had no control of the heater blower in my car.i can still control the temp up & dwn as norm but the heater blower just dnt work.ive tried replacing the heater controler thinking maybe it was that but no luck! Today i changed wot i think is the heater blower which sits behind the glovebox its a round cylinder with a small motor at the bottom?? but i still have had no joy :rolleyes: ive tested the cable with my meter and im only getting about 5 volts.i would of thought it would of been 12v atleast has any1 got any ideas wot it could be? as driving the z in this weather is bloody cold at the moment :cry:

Hi all, zed started to overheat today, I have some kind of leak of some sort.. it dumped quite a lot of water.. any ideas what it may be? I did have a minor leak before could it have turned into a major leak of some sort?.. car was fine over the past few days and at work today.. it was only after i went round to my friends house (who was going to have a look at it) that i noticed quite a big puddle of water on the floor.. we topped it up with water and i drove it home and on the way it started to overheat.. so car is staying parked at my house tomorrow.. i am not going to drive it until i've got it sorted as i dont want to warp the head etc.. any ideas what it could …

My first service since buying my zx is due soon. Could anyone tell me what i should be paying for a full service? Oh, how often should the cam belt be changed, and what should this cost? Cheers

Ok I am slowly deciding on my exhaust. I am having decats and a double twin tips. The last piece I need to decide on is the centre section. What are the advantages of X or H, resonators or not. I dont want it too noisy, i realise it will be a bit noisier with the de-cats. I currently have a single-exit with cats.

as i'm going for an fmic - im upgrading to a koyo radiator, adding a zemulator from ashspecz but i'm just wondering is there anywhere thats cheaper to obtain the doolz from as relocating air filters where smics's are. other than ash specz? also gona need doolz v2 aswell? wheres the best place to go or look?

Hey, Fitting a pair of HKS super sqv BOV's, can't for the love of me work how your supposed to mount them as the recirc bolt holes are nowhere near the mounting points of the BOV's. I've got instructions but there in japanesse which isn't much help. :cry: If anyones done this in the past i'd be really grateful for your help :) Cheers Ste

At about 1150 it was parked in the car park. Number plates ended 6969

For anyone interested..... Borrowed the scales from work. Weighed the Z engine a while ago when it came out. It had the ex manifolds on but no air con pump. no pas pump and no alternator. This weighed 206kgs. Then weighed the Chevy in the same state, with the carb and dizzy. This weighed 193kg, but forgot to put the ex manifolds on which weigh 5kg, so total is 198kg. Certainly a surprise how much the Z engine weighs.

Hi all, someone used the wrong nut when putting my started motor back on and has ruined the thread, never had to tackle anything like this before, does the stud come out and can I get a replacement from Nissan? if it does how do I go about getting it out and replacing it, any help gratefully received, Richard.

just considering having a play on track this year and wondered as regards helmets .. compulsory or not ? if compulsory i presume helmets must be upto relevant approved safety standards. any recommends as far as a good one to go for :)

hows this for a safe way of getting 500hp Manual conversion with rps clutch I am thinking no more than 18psi...is it better to go full upgraded turbos or have the originals worked to output this safely? Forged engine rebuild with cams ( any advice on profile would be appreciated) and 555cc injectors and ecu remap for them Downpipe replaced and maybe turbo elbows ( anyone seen wether the originals are up to the job) any other advice appreciated Kev
