Hey guys, turned over the 300 today after ages and it sounded shagged! I knew the engine would need changing one day but was hopeing it would be later rather than sooner. Based on my assumption I may need to start looking for a new lump. I was just wondering how much a relatively good engine goes for nowadays or how much would a rebuild cost? up untill now me and my brother have been doing all the work ourselves in our free time i.e. changing the turbos, body kit, primer etc and i'm a junior accountant! LOL, So I won't be doing any of this myself anymore and would want to get it done from a professional. Any help and advice will be much appreciated. Cheers peep…

1st. Boost gauge sitting on "0" with the key in and not on and also on tick over , slap bang in the middle. Boosts fine and drives pefectly, the gauge goes up to around 9ish when opening it up. Clocks were taken out to have rings inserted could this be something as simple as a connection being knocked or moved? Was checked on datascan and no faults were found. Gave a code 55. No smoke either blue/white so was told it might be a boost leak. How do i find that out and what would it cost for someone to check that for me? 2nd. How much to repair and spray a front strosek bumper (scuffs-spiders cracks-chips), spiders cracks on the wide archs and repair a…

Hi Guys I am about to dip my toe into the world of the 300ZX and am having difficulty finding a decent insurer, particularly one that will deal with modified cars. My heart is set on a 1992+ TT with Targa roof but the insurance quotes I am getting are almost as much as the cost of buying the car, and that is just for an unmodified one. Is there a secret source of affordable Zed insurance known only to the iluminati of the Zed World or will I have to mortgage my child to get road legal?

Does anyone know where i could get the original factory Sony Cd player fitted to the '91 jap model? Or does someone have one for sale? My one has just shat itself. I know it would be easier to fit a more modern one, but i would like to keep the car as original as poss. Cheers

It's always the way, a simple couple of hours doing a simple job turns into nightmare from hell. Was changing the discs and pads over so all i had to do was get the wheel off, pop out the brake pads, undo the two bolts holding the calipers on then whip the disk off, pop the new one on, grease the new pads and put it all back together. What happens? I have to use a mallet the get the top bolt moving just tapping the end of the spanner when it slips and flattens the bend in the brake pipe going to the top of the caliper  so for the past 2 hours all i've been trying to do is undo the bolts holding the pipe in place so i could get a new one made up at sh…

I finaly manged to get my headlamps off.. but i did'nt remove the inside furthest bolt. I removed the headlamp from the inside black rail thingy.with some drilling! But it the headlamp will mount back on the rails fine and secured with a screw. Manged to get the headlamp glass cover off ok. But i need something to disolve all the grey sealant because its very icky and tough to remove, anything i could apply to the grey goop to make it go runny? Also the spotlight chamber thingy has a oval glass lens thing which i will clean like the big glass cover. But why has this lens got a big u shaped object in front of it to obscure it. Can i remove it to get more hea…

As the title suggest, I am wanting to get my roof pillars sprayed black towards the beginning of spring. Just wondering, I know there's a few guys on here with it done....did you have the roof pillars sprayed satin black or gloss black? I am pretty much certain to go for gloss black and get the door pillars redone at the same time as well as changing the matt black t-piece to gloss black so it would match the reflective nature of the windows. Wondering what finish those that have had it done, went for??

Hi. Currently carrying out an auto to manual conversion. I'm lifting out the engine also. I have a 1990 J spec auto TT I understand that the auto turbo's are different to the manuals, presuming the auto's are smaller so they spin up faster. Is it worth changing the auto tubs for manual ones?

yippee.. finally my seat arrived thursday to match my drivers seat parcelfarce apparently delivered it but i never saw it :smash: so off now to get my tyres swapped over, then up to my mates garage to use his tools and fit it all before kick off of the england game at 4..lol its quite amusing cos he is a mechanic for a pro street hot rod team and is a fairly big bloke and so am i so it invariably ends up with "American chopper" style rows ...pmsl (all in gd fun of course) anyone else doing stuff today that is purely selfish ie doesnt help with maintenance or performance(although the seats are superb really hold you in place on the corners)…
