General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I know it has been discussed before but I wasn't interested then but am now. What i would like are some lower springs that are not too hard but maybe 30-40mm lower. Eibachs seem to be the favourit but are there any other that I might consider. Cheers, Scrawni.

done a quick photoshop of a uk spec rear end with the centre brake light removed and the fog lights flushed... do you think it looks any better or just a waste of time? i think with the 99spec lights in there it tidys it up a treat :)

whats best? a front mount, like the ones on ebay for around 300 quid like this or Aluminium side mounts for the same money, like these? if it was your money what would you go for? :confused:

I got a Snooper (used one from a club member). It seems great. What would eb the easiest way to get a hard wire rigged to a live fairly discretely? Go in near the stereo perhaps?

IE: intake and exhaust: stage 2. ecu and headers : stage 2. cam and exhaust : stage 2. any combo of X power mods = X. some ppl count the light parts as stages, some count them a "+'s". some ppl count 2 "Xs" as 1 stage. some say stage are over rated. these are set up in the order that will help out the most. Hi anyone seen this Z on ebay recently it says it is in an up and coming film. Cant paste the link but its a Black Jap Series 2 Manual Z TT if you search the bay it will come up. What is your opinion on this car? Anyone seen it before or worked on it? Im tempted to take a look.

Just fitted a chrome balance bar and noticed the there are no gaskits between it and the plenum. If the fit between these two is poor, how will it effect the runing of the car? Is it worth using a liquid seler? Cheers, Andy

I Just had the cam belt, tensioners, water pump, auxiliary belts etc changed and although the car seems to run perfectly, when you floor the accelerator the turbo boost shoots to around 14psi (US model) then it drops to around 12psi, then back to 14 again.Sometimes the boost stops at 9psi, pauses then jumps to 14..then back down to 13psi and so on. It´s not just the boost gauge either as you can actually feel the "slight" hesitation. The Turbos sound fine too..anyone got any ideas ? cheers :o)

:cry: Gutted I'm afraid it's the end of the road for me and my Zed. I've spent quite a chunk of money that I had set aside over the past year sorting out niggles on the car and maintaining it etc. In November I spent over £1700 getting shocks (2nd hand), brakes (new front pads, 2nd hand rear discs), hicas arms (new) fitted to get it through the MOT. The other day it started to overheat, and I feared the worst. A chemical test at my local yokel garage confirmed my fears... head gasket, or possibly worse. I would go ahead, but the cash reserves have now dried up, so it's got to go. It'd probably make sense to break it, but I don't have the mechani…

Hi Guys , Can anybody help with a problem with dash lights . Need to find the dimmer module that is fed from the rocker switch . It is something to do with earth supply as if I connect earth to feed the dash bulbs they all light up , but no dimming effect . Does anybody know were the modiule is . Thanks also this was posted in z related discussions too - accidentally - should have looked further before plonking it in a room.

Did The 300ZX ever have a heated front screan option??? Maybe on the 99 spec????

Hi peeps, I've just received new NGK Laser Platinum sparkies which I ordered from Road Runner Autosport. when they arrived I noticed that the code was PFR6N-11 (stock number 3546) Are these for the 300? I am reading through the zillions of threads and everyone keeps saying about PRF6B-11C? Have I been sent the wrong ones? Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated before I start putting them in. sorry about all the questions relating to DV's at the moment..last one i promise.. the pipe going in to the DV from air intake what size should the pipe on the BOV be? as i need a bit of extra pipe? cheers

:headvswal last night popped down the chippy like u do an on my way back turned into my road an me Z started stuttering under idling an conked out?? started up again got on my drive an done the same then wouldn,t start turned the key but wouldn't fire up,left it bout an hour came out tryed again an she start an seemed fine its not the tt its the 3ltr v6 92' any ideas............???? :confused:

As my bolster on the drivers side is starting to wear/scuff, is it possible to swap it with the one from the passenger side seat? If so how do I do it? Thanks.
