just been looking at zedworlds site and they seem pretty competent at working on zeds... however living in hampshire the 250 odd mile drive is going to rack up the cost.. just wondering if anyone knows anywhere nearer that could offer the same sort of general check over and fix type work. cheers

Hi all, Im getting a new zed, import TT one to stick in my new engine etc etc. Im also going to put in my UK TT interior. It has heated seats, am i best to cut holes in the control bit to fit the heated seats buttons or should I possibly try and get hold of a USA one that has the space cut out already??

Is the timming supposed to change during driving? Mine is 15 degree when idle. When I floor it 15 degree. But it somewhere between 20 and all the way up to 40 sometimes when driving along normaly... (that includes a bit of throttle and rpm variation. Normal driving) Is this normal?

Hi all, i've had a look through old threads but none of them mention my problem exactly. Its happened twice now. On my way to work, start up car runs fine no issues, driving okay with small bursts of on boost fun. Then i give it the berries and it starts misfireing, coughing and splutering and doesnt respond to the throttle. This went on for a couple of miles and then cleared itself. On my way home i connect up the Datascan software, do the same and car runs perfect (WTF!!??). There are no error codes (only 55) I've recently changed the MAF due to idling problems, done a boost leak check, cleaned all of the connectors, etc, etc. If the Det sensor gets …

I did a driving day in my zed on Friday - I will post some vids of it once I get hold of them off my mate. In the meantime, I need some help with a couple of things  1) I'm pretty sure my clutch has had it. It seems most noticeable in 4th gear. If I plant my foot, the revs climb nicely, but the speed doesn't really pick up at all. I can still pull away in 1st ok, but it's getting more and more smelly. What's going to be involved in getting the clutch replaced (work and rough cost) and have people got advice on what to go for? 2) I noticed my zed has started smoking, but only out of the left exhaust. This seems to only really be on pulling away and…

Actually we got in late last night - but I was too knackered to post! I have got to say a BIG thanks to Kim for putting in a lot of effor to get this arranged - great job there matey, and the sausage rolls were just the ticket! My second big thanks is to everyone from the club. I was a bit worried about bringing our 9 month old baby Luca, but I needn't have worried - he was as good as gold, and everyone from the club made us feel really welcome. It was really good to meet you all again, some familliar faces and some new ones too. All in all, a great weekend, and proving that 300zx.co.uk is truly family friendly.

Now that LED replacements are available for almost all the exterior bulb sizes i was going to start swapping them out. Problem is that there is an endless amount of strange codes and diameters available on the internet for the bulbs available. I've tried the FAQ and searching but i can't find any information on what bulbs sizes are used in the front and rear light clusters. Anyone on here have any idea? Cheers Dave

  19. Hi. I have a GReddy boost controller attached to my car and (don't laugh) Im not sure how to set it up correctly. This is mainly due to the fact that I dont know what boost the car should be running. What boost should the car be running on a normal quiet drive, and what sould It be set to for a bit of a tear?

I'm very interested in buying a Z, and the seller very kindly sent some photos, one of which is the eng comp.. On the nearside suspension strut bulkhead there is a very messy area that appears to be mastic of some sort. Does anyone else have this on their car ? (see pic - sorry about the crude black line, I'm not much of a dab hand with Photoshop :wack:) Thanks

Thanks to Boldy spending 6 hours of his weekend working on my car, the rear Wings West bumper now sits proudly!!! He did an ace job and I am very much appreciative! Here are a few problems we ran into! 1. Twin Oblong tail pipes touching bumper which would burn paint and reverberate! We fixed this by removing the back exhaust rubber that holds the tail pipe to the underside of the car. Need to get a custom one made allowing a greater distance. 2. As with fibre glass, loads of sanding and grinding! Apart from that, it now fits 100%! Well done boldy and Thank you! Next job, FRONT BUMPER! Jon

Bugger! Just got my ECU back from mr andy p with a nice new chip, installed it no probs and took her for a drive. All was fine about half hour into my drive i pulled up at a car wash and let the lads set about there work and whilst they were spraying her an engine check light appeared. I start to reverse out and my car stalls and will not turn back on, engines turning but would not fire, after a few minutes trying it started with the engine check light still on. I pull out of the wash bay and park up so they can do the inside. 10 - 15 mins later the car is dry and clean so i get back in and fire her up no problem, (engine check light still on) and start to…

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has any suggestion on where I can get this from? Halfords one is very flimsy and the black scrapes off way too easy judgjng by the ones on their shelves. B&Q doesn't do black. Wouldn't mind a plastic one if they did it as then it wouldn't have the problem if stones chips Cheers Vijay
