General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Probably been asked before but I've not found anything with a search. Is there or does anyone know if there is a FRONT camber adjustment kit for a Fairlady. The front tyres are wearing right on the inner shoulders near and offside. The only place I can see latitude for adjustment is the strut top mounting. Would shimming this mount cure the problem or is it more technical ? Any ideas, please.

is there anybody in the north west that could possibly do a electric test on my gearbox and or engine to find a fault as it wont change gear properly thanks

Bl**dy things are getting right up my nose (which can be uncomfortable :eek:) Are there any problems if I take the damned things off completely, and don't replace them ? :confused:

Started the car today, it was very cold and wet, went to put my foot down to pull off and the revs dropped, nearly stalled it, put it in neutral, reved a little and the same thing happened, when it had warmed up it was fine, what could be the cause of this?

Hey guys the garage rang and are telling me that they have the car up to 1 bar and 400 horses. But it starts to misfire when it gets hot so they reckon I need a new set of coils. Are they talking shite? or are they on the right track? They say the coilpacks start breraking down at 1 bar. Cheers Ron

The problem it seems is the bovs. It seems like the bov doesn't close fast enough, causing the car to die:headvswal The bov are mounted on the hardpipe before the throttlebody. The vacum adapter/control tube or whatever it's called that's on the back goes to the balance bar.

Hi there, where do I start, Old box is toast and just bought a replacement, hoping that it will last a little while until funds can be raised for a manual conversion, I have a UK TT and the replacement box is off an import, are there any decent guides or can anyone help with some pointers before I start stripping the old one off! is this an achievable task or do I need a Dr of car mechanics, I have rebuilt heads and resonably confident with a spanner; however i feel a bit nervious about this one! Hello all, just wondered if anyone had had any nice finds when looking to update there interiors? I currently have cream and black leather for my interior but am looking to upgrade the centre console etc to bring it all to life a bit more. My starter motor on my UK TT Manual is messing about, ie clicking from time to time to start. Will a starter motor of a Jap 91 TT Auto fit, as ive got one on my soon to be broken jap.

Well after over 2 years waitng,saving,buying,shouting and sweating.I can finaly say theres light at the end of the tunnel:dance: My engine is now finaly built and awaiting the final bits (next week) After studying my options and loads of head scratching i decided to go all the way and go BIG. it's bloody October and there about 2" of snow outside

ok so just got back from football.. drive back i noticed the temp gauge go up a bit further than usual.. but not alarming .. or so i thought.. anyway get home and there is a hissing and steam bellowing from the rad! .. its far to dark for me to do anything but .. any suggestions? i also have no heat coming through the vents in the car.. always been pretty naf. but now nothing just cold air! 2 related? any help/suggestions are appreciated!

and why the fook would nissan put it inside of the crossmember, this is why it has corroded

sorry to bug use again about oil pressure. Just had the car serviced, on starting it up now the oil pressure guage sits just off 0, but once i drive the car the oil pressure picks up and sits at around 2 psi, then when i go into neutral the oil pressure drops back down to just off zero. Is this a problem or is it a good thing?

the ones that screw into the bottom of the rad support bracket that im changing are they the same on a uk as they are on a jap, ive got a new suport bar and the old bolts dont screw into the new support bar, just wondered if they were different????

Does anyone know the maximum boost pressure that a standard zed can take safely? Im asking because im going to fit boost controllers. Assuming these are easy to fit?

Hello. Was just wondering what you guys think it should cost for a front bumper to get sprayed and fitted? Was quoted 300 today which i thought was pritty expensive. I then asked how much for a spoiler sprayed and fitted and was told about the same, which again i felt was quite expensive.lol. Any thoughts on this guys?

Hi I'd love some advice being very green when it comes to any working knowledge of the large lump under the bonnet. For sometime(couple of years) I've had a problem with bolts loosening up on the manifolds but I'm told by my previous garage these were too inaccessible to tighten right up but equally due to the inaccessibility they would not work completely out. Well now the exhaust is realy blowing and really affecting acceleration at quite low speeds (60-80). My new garage say bolts appear to be loose on the turbos too now and because these and the manfolds bolts are impossible to get ut they need to drop the engine to have a good look.
