thank you for that nick, fair play so i am not very good at puncuation and the layout of what im trying to say but nobody is perfect. so anyway like i keep saying i got the car about 4 days ago and it is my first 300zx and for that matter my first car that has turbos no my knowlege is very limited. hence the reason i am hear as you lot have a vast amount of knowlede of these cars. ok so my problem is my clutch slips under a high load but there is a little blue thing (like a tap) at the front of my engine that i was told is a blow off valve but from what you have said i am incorrect. but anyway i closed the valve off so it didnt release any air thats wh…

Hi there, new on here, have owned a z for about 2 and half year now, with pretty much nought going wrong with it, other then the usual like clutch and pads etc. What happened is, while driving about 40ish, i noticed I wernt getting any boost all of a sudden, just goes to 0 or a tiny amount past if I push it, you know what I mean. Anyway it got worse, it started running on like what seemed like 4 cilinders. Then later tried to start it later in the eve and it wouldnt start. I thought maybe it was the PTU. Rang up zedworld and they were very helpfull, and ran a couple of checks while on the phone to them, and in the end they said it sounded like it was that too. …

Hey all After twelve months its finally back in the garage with all the work done. They have finished the map at a conservative 403bhp at 1.3bar (There is more but I'm happy with that!) Ill post up some pics when I have given it a clean tomorrow. Ive only driven it home but opened it up a little and it was very very quick. Cheers Ron  P.S. am thinking of selling my old 18" bbs wheels with tyres 2X contis at the front and 2X bridgie re040. See my rides section for pics.

When the car is cold, it tends to hold back a bit and all of a sudden I get a massive burst of acceleration, could this be because of the bigger tubs or be part of my idling problem? maf, tps, ptu, I have mesh grills in my centre panel, could water be getting in to the maf and causing dampness?

Thank you guys, in the time of Zed Ownership, I have to say that I have never experience such first class service, an awsome garage that has completely outshone all that I have used before! I will be back and recomend to all! Thanks Jeff and Jamie, for sorting out my Autobox so quickly, and I will look forward to getting her booked in the new year! to get rid of the dreaded rot! It was worth the dogey hotel! Chris

Why? I think its coz there is now no centre bearing and the prop now moves back and forth in and out of the gearbox spline so when itreaches the end of its length it hits the box or something. Anyone else with a one piece prop have this noise i hope my prop isnt faulty or soemthing.

Does anyone have any reccomendations as to where i should get this fitted? Trying to get a reputable company and also a rough idea on price. The diff will be off my car soon so it can go anywhere although the car is in Swindon at present and local would be better!

The car is a manual NA. Right the problems are that the battery light somtimes comes on at low revs/tickover which I've put down to a knackered alternator except that going back through the cars history the current one is only 10k old from new. Also the engine will cut out, the climate control display will scramble and disappearunder accelleration, the "light" light comes on under braking and the headlights dim when i change gear. Apart from that it's just peachy:headvswal

Hey all, this isn't a question, but thought I'd tell you something.... I bought my Zed, without knowing the amount of botchery that had been done that I couldn't see. The latest thing is, the speedo wasn't working, or the odometer, so I have removed it, and guess what? Someone has super-glued the odometer solid, so the miles don't go up! Unbelieveable, so the milage is totally incorrect, who knows what it really is! Not too bad tho, cos I've done a complete re-build from the block up, and also feel better because I know where the guy I bought it off lives! Haha... How dare he abuse a Zed like he has, wait till I see him :-)

Took my car in to get my autobox oil changed 2day and the oil that came out was a dark black  but also had alot of tiny silver bits in it. was told this could be wear off the clutch's in it and gear box doesnt have long left in it..maybe less then a few weeks! any ideas at if this could be something smaller? or is it gonna have to be a new box?

Oreet peeps, gonna pick ya brains again :-) I took her for the first drive after the re-build, and the speedo isn't working, neither is the trip milage, but I never noticed if the odometer is working. Someone has done a LED conversion on it, and the pods, so I have removed the lot today, and they have made a bit of an abortion of it. Also, as it's an import, there is a KPH to MPH converter fitted (badly) inline with the feed to the speedo. Is this necersary, as the dials have been changed to MPH? Also, the boost gauge is not working either, I can't see anything obvious for that tho... Also, I don't like the leds, the light is too direct, only lights up where the…

Doing my planning for next 6 months with what I'd like to do with my Zed. I love the 99 spec rear spoiler like the one FunkySi has, but have never seen an image of one on a wide bodied SWB Zed. Question is, has anybody? If you have do the lines look right with it. Any image would be much appreciated. Below is a link to a page that shows a nice shortie with wide body but a different rear spoiler (first car on the page): http://mnsportcompacts.net/forum/showthread.php?t=63958&page=3 How would a 99spec rear spoiler look on it?

Hi guys Just got the Zed with a new secondhand gearbox back from Zed World, Jeff and Jamie are wicked, very pleased; however I have just got some tyres priced up, and almost had a heart attack, I am running 265/30/19's on the rear and 235/35's on the front, and tyres are like £200 bucks each for cheapies buget brand stuff, I am convinced that I can get a 18' wheel and tyre package for that! So what wheel and sizes are people running, and avarage cost of tyres?

My 300 will refuse to start, it turns but wont fire up. I removed the fuel pump fuse and cranked it over in case the the engine was fludded put the fuse back in and it seemed to make no difference apart from I could hear a short buzzing sound when i turned the key but still would not start. It feels like it out of fuel but the pump is still buzzing????????
