Heard something quiet scary today. My ex girlfriend (on good terms) went to a tax seminar - without going into details tax is changing in April. Its a possibility that eventually HMRC will be in charge of paying everyone, then billing companies for the wages!!!! So your company will tell HMRC how much to pay you then THEY HMRC will be in charge of paying you. Taxing at source. Scary shit. Next it will be Brussels deciding on how much we will be getting paid seen as they dictate everything else!

Due to recent goverment changes & sudden cuts to the funding of cavity wall & loft insulation schemes i've just been laid off along with 100 other staff :cursing: Wouldnt mind soo much if it wasnt for the fact i got told yesterday that due to the current cuts they would be laying off 64 of us. However they would be keeping the best of us to tied us over till the new Goverment 'Green Deal' kicks in & have enough funding & work to carry us over & "my job was safe" (should think so after 5 years of service & dedication + training god knows how many others for them FOC) Get a phone call halfway through the day "drop tools & go …

Ok this may take a bit of time to explain as it's very complex but I'll try my best to keep it simple. (I won't name names/companies just to keep it ok for open discussion) there's a bit of waffle at the beginning (which a lot of you will have heard before) and there are a few legal agent/seller questions at the end.... A lot of people are aware of my RX7 issue that has been ongoing for several years (so my appologies for the repetition). To date this has not been resolved and it's very unlikely that I will be taking this to court as the individuals in question have exploited several legal loopholes. However I feel now that I may have to t…

Need another runabout. The Lancer is fab, cannot fault it but its our only car and its difficult when we're both on placement and need to get to places when we're sharing. Am thinking of going to have a look at this later: http://www.tradecarsnortheast.co.uk/used-cars/volkswagen-golf-1-6-se-2dr-thornaby-201301497338090 I test drove a Golf last year and liked it, it felt pretty solid and safe, but I've never owned German before. Anything I ought to know? I said to Marc before Christmas that I wanted a cabby for my 40th lol

A few nights ago i made a passing comment about an 89 rear spoiler on a thread not connected and declared that i was intrested.Another member then stated that he had one but was unable to find the time to post due to work comitments but i could pick the item up for free. Now this basicly wrote that idea off as ime near chester (north west) and the member was in London so i put it to bed. Out of the blue tonight ive just had a pm from him stating he had taken the spoiler to his wifes work and she was going to post it tomorrow..iff that was,nt good enough he also told me and his words "free postage, free spoiler". This is such a massive gesture of generosity as we are not ta…

Ok it's a bit of a random thread title and to be fair it's not a particularly interesting thread, but here go's I thought I'd share it with you anyway... Last year I leant a mate of mine my Nomex kit and spare helmet for the 2012 season and his dog evidently took a fancy to the old Sparco suit bag that the coveralls were in. He was very appologetic (my mate that is not the dog!) and duly sourced a replacement. The courier delivered all of my kit and the replacement bag the other day and as I was going through it all to give it a bit of an airing, I noticed the team name and former owner of the bag: AT&T WILLIAMS ROSBERG Like I said, not particula…

Just put some pictures of my latest American road trip on my iPad so thought you might like to see some of the cars I saw along the way. Some of the cars are in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, the others are in the many car museums along Route 66. The pictures are on photobucket but well worth a look. http://s1134.beta.photobucket.com/user/tmogsy/library/American%20cars%202012

Sorry it's not a Zed, but i took up hairdressing when i realised i couldn't handle twin turbo's :innocent: One of the only things letting the look of my car down (IMO :laughing ) is the faded rear light plastics. So I bought some AutoBrite scratch out during a Christmas promotion on Detailing World. This is the result. This was applied using a micro fibre towel, worked in for literally a couple of minutes, then buffed off. Here is a 50/50 for comparison. Hope you agree they look so much better now, thought this might be of interest/use to some of you as I'm sure others have a similar problem. Thanks for looking. Daffy.

I have a negative output on my alarm which is used to switch on things like the tilt switch, microwave sensor etc. When the alarm is turned off, it switches to 11 odd volts and I wanted to use this to switch a mini relay but when connected, the voltage goes down to 7v and you can hear a tiny click from the relay. I assume there isn't enough current to actually switch the relay? So is there any way of using this low current 11v to switch a relay? Cheers Vijay

Just sat here watching the above and was wondering what you guys thought was the worst car in history and most of all why? Mine is a 1988 ford Orion always broke down on me no matter how much I spent on it getting it fixed, its best feature was it knew when I had to be somewhere quickly and decided it did not want to start. Then after a night out I woke up to find it gone from my drive and on someone elses round the corner. This was over 15 years ago and not yesterday.

Well a few months ago I sold the zed to buy something more practical unfortunately ( for the bank balance) I stumbled across the rs6 which seemed to tick all the boxes, fast, reliable, awd, practical and comfortable so I took the plunge a few weeks ago and having only owned jap cars since the tender age of 16 I'm quite impressed by the big german brute. It's no zed it doesn't have the ability to turn heads like the zed, it doesn't have the sexy curb appeal of the zed did and the bills for repairs on the big 6 are frightening (£1000 just for a set of brake disc's, you could buy a tatty zed for that!!!) but hey you only live once. Anyway I hope I don't get to much…

Any ideas what I can do? TV working fine, good reception on all freeview channels (and freeview HD channels on TV directly). Hook up my new surround sound system (LG BH9520TW) and have a play with the settings listening to music and with a dvd, all fine. Stick it on the TV and first few channels I try say no signal, others have jumpy pictures and a few are fine. Switch off the surround dound system and I gett all my channels back! No point having a semi decent setup like this if I can't use it for every day TV watching. I've got a booster plugged in already.
