As you know i've bought a 4x4 and it was imported from Japan late last year. There isn't a bit of rust on it which is great and i'd like to keep it that way. Do people generally put a coat of that tar stuff on them? Or is it a personal preference?? The car is made with zink coated steel so won't rust but not sure about the chassis.

Word to the wise, and please advise any other forums that you may be members of this: http://www.autoadvan.co.uk are a vehicle importer, importing vehicle from America and Japan. I recently browsed their website and found 2 BMW 850i's, from 1990. There are priced at 6 and 8K. I started making enquiries. Then by chance on http://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/japan_car/honda/all/?ps=25. I entered a search for a BMW 8 series from 1990, and low and behold, there were the same cars for 1.6K and 1.9K FOB. Even with taxes and shipping these cars come in at approx 2.5K and 3K respectively. Which is a 3.5 and 5K saving of the inflated prices on the Autoadvan site…

Sky 1 - 1st Feb 09 - 10pm http://sky1.sky.com/show/ross-kemp-afghanistan Love the Guy or hate him, he is a top bloke for going back to highlight the dangerous, selfless and underpaid job our Armed Forces do out there. I watched the 1st series, and I was moved at how close he got with the men, and how it affected him, the soldiers and their families when men were Killed. You could argue the fact that he gets paid loads of money, and he's just doing it to make a name for himself etc, but he is in the thick of it with the soldiers, and could get Killed as easily as the next man, so maximum respect to him. I will be watching. :)

Just wanted to say that I don't like the appearance of the skylines and cannot understand why people drool over them. Yes the handle well and yes they have excellent performance, but God I think they look ugly compared to the Zed. Am I alone paddling my own canoe on this one?

I have been thinking again.............. So decided to grab a bargain at the right time for the coming summer........ I wouldn't like to think that I had taken advantage of someone who was suffering the credit crunch so asked him and he said no. He set a price and I bought it for that price. So my concience is clear :) I paid £1500 T&T 26.000 miles and it is in very good condition throughout although it needs a clean from riding it home from 50 miles away.

Just been looking a different thread involving an Austin all agro and it got me thinking, whats the worst car you had owned??? Mine has got to be a D reg red Seat Ibiza 1.5GLX (system porche) in my late teens whilst i was driving around Hanger lane on the A40 in London, drove past a stationery police car waiting at the lights and my passenger door opened for no apparent reason and smacked the front of the boys in blue. I stopped and they had a small chat with me, one bald tyre, faulty headlight and the copper tested it on the side of the road, and snapped the handbrake. Gave me 3 points just for good measure.:mac1: Fooking thing was worse than a skip, as they are…
