Newbies - let yourselves be known

Hi everyone, I’ve finally got myself a Zed! Very happy with it, drove it 90 miles home and it didn’t miss a beat! It’s not immaculate and will need some bits but it runs nicely, drive great and has an MOT! ? I think I might do a member journal about it as I have some plans, nothing ground breaking, but I want to make sure this car is looked after. Currently on about 90k but 70k of that is KM. It didn’t come with any history so I’m doing it properly and taking it down to Jimmer for a full belts service and a good going over to see what I’ve actually bought!

Hi, I'm about to bid on a 300ZX which was imported from Japan a few years ago. The car is advertised as a completely original 1996 Twin Turbo but I'm a little suspicious as there is no boost pressure gauge on the speedo. The car does have the intercooler inlets on the lower front bumper and the VIN plate codes do suggest it's a turbo model. Has anyone else encountered a turbo model that doesn't have the boost pressure gauge though? My understanding is that it was standard fit in all sales markets. The car was converted from km to mls when it was imported and all I can think is that the dashboard was replaced at that time, with this glaring oversight not noticed. Stil…

New member just saying hello. 1990 2+2 TT Jap import bought a month ago, needs light restoration recommissioning, just working through rusty suspension. It seems it was a leaf connector so all rads, Intercoolers and condenser rotten, apart from that all seems solid and fired up first time. Intend to do 120k service even though only showing 96k km as not much history. The AC is puzzling me at the moment all UK stock seems to be discontinued, could get a condenser from US but not found much else, so would be interested to hear if any alternatives or UK suppliers Thanks Andrew

My brother and I picked up a 1993 2+2 twin turbo a couple of years ago from a non mechanical previous owner who had forgotten to replace the engine oil after emptying the running-in oil after professional rebuild! His loss! Took ownership a couple of weeks back of a red manual TT import with hks turbos and a few other hks bits, blitz 03 wheels, stillen front end and smooth body and door handles. Hi Recently picked up a 1993 fairlady z TT with 62k on clock... In short time I've had it the heater matrix needed replacing,alarm failed leaving me unable to start it and afew electrical gremlins. Hi Guys, I have been a 200sx s14a owner for nearly 17 years now. Always liked the 300zx, love the look and the idea of a twin turbo engine! I think I want to get one this year. Couple questions. What are the most common issues to look out for? And.. can the NA lump be turbo charged? Or should I just get a turbo to start with. Hi All, Just to introduce myself. Am the proud owner of a twin turbo manual that I acquired a couple of weeks ago - have been dreaming of getting a 300zx for several years.... It's UK spec and was converted from auto about 15 years ago. Generally it appears in good condition with very little rust anywhere since it has been garaged for 20 years. However I can't drive it at the moment since just had surgery on my shoulder - may keep it boxed for now and then get it out again in the spring if I can resist for that long! Hi all I have recently become the custodian of this UK supplied 300ZX, and I'm trying very hard to save it from the breakers yard. I am looking for any tips or advice that will assist me to do this to the correct standard. I would like to get it back on the road, to show it and enjoy it. It has already caused a bit of a stir amongst the local kids who thought it was a Ferrari, but were still wowed by it's great looks and sound. Many thanks Paul

Hi guys Just got myself a 1990 300 tt which had been imported from the UK. Needs a bit of work but basically sound. The normal road tax on a 3 litre machine in Ireland is about €1400 but that drops to €56 after it hits 30 years so it's affordable. There's a decent 300 ownership in Ireland, Z31, 32 and a few 33's and 34's but the Z32's are in the majority. I've signed up here for info/advice and general knowledge and look forward to being around for a while. Great cars and great owners!
