Some of you know that i went to view a mark4 Supra today... Anyway had a look its in really goood nick still standard (except wheels) and restricted to 112mph so im having it but ive got to get my Z sorted first before i let it her go. Basically im pretty sure ive got mains seal failure due to dirty pcv valves. Ive changed the pcv valves and hoses and its helped a bit but not enough. what else could i try? thinner oil to relieve oil pressure? Any ideas on cost for a garage to drop box and replace seal ?as i think this is the way to sort it.Ive been told around £150-£175 labour and cost of seal-is this about right? i just want to get that done and let her go as i have a buyer waiting but cant let it go in the state its in (im too honest they say!) cheers guys

standard lights are crap mate. You should have side lights and dipped on for normal driving but TBH yo cant see nowt- ost go for HID conversion though before doing that try cleaning out the inside of the lenses out,that might help a bit

I should be going either if its in the Z or the Supra.

Took it too the garage who put it up on the ramps. Could see where oil staining had taken place on the drivers side of the car up by engine trailing back but no sign of a leak even after running the car for 20mins. So by this i cant believe it could be the mains seal if the staining is on one side of the car. So my mech reckons it must be a hose opening up on pressure on one side of the engine All ive got to find out where!Im starting to wish it was the main seal-then at least i would know where it is!Does it ever end? However put the other pcv hoses 9for addition to the valves i put on the other night.) on and no signs of smoke and old ones didnt seem blocked -though one pipe had the little metal plug with a hole inside in pushed round so it was side on!gets stranger by the hour lol.

Changed the pcvs the other day...I hope it the gearbox or something silly.

Oil in gearbox did look high when warm and has dropped recently. I will find out soon though :rolleyes:

yup keeping check everyday for dropping levels-it prob only drops a drip every 30 secs while driving resulting in Blue smoke on the cats!So hard to tell which fluid is dropping.

well they will still be on the car for the new owner IF it goes this weekend-depending on oil leak being fixed. Anyway they are 17's but not very wide so lose traction all the time so pointless really-I didnt put them on by the way!

Ive had enough of my damn gearbox/gearbox leak so getting a garage to look at it. I havent got the space and ramps to get under the car-let alone do anything when im under there Took some pics instead to make me feel better....lol
