Right had a big problem with the lighting of the car and all I thought was ok except no lights on the dash (chunk thinks its a earth problem)

 

Now driving home around an un-lit plate (usally everywhere is lit) and my normal lights are really really crap

 

Side lights work, when I go to normal lights the lights with the round lens come on but are are really shit (100w bulb in there)

 

Should any other lights be on? e.g the main light having 2 elements?

 

My full beam seems good and turns the lights off with the funny lens, I know something must be wrong as the lights that are on as the light beam goes out to the side and there is no light lighting up the road in the middle

 

Any help would be great

standard lights are crap mate.

You should have side lights and dipped on for normal driving but TBH yo cant see nowt-

ost go for HID conversion though before doing that try cleaning out the inside of the lenses out,that might help a bit

Right so the funny lens lights (round) and side lights should be on as main lights and full beam are big lights (rectangle)

 

The reason I asked as they got rewired up 2 weeks ago (was alot of black before)

 

Is the lens easy to clean as this is really hard to see at night unless full beam is on

 

Whats the conversion? Mine seems to have been converted to use UK bulbs (bulb with a wire solded to it)

Yep, round = Dipped.

Rectangle = High

 

Sidelights (in bumper) always on when you have Dipped or Full on too.

 

It could possibly be becuase the lens is so dirty. Common problem, which makes owners believe Zed headlights are far poorer than they actually are. They all get dirty inside and it makes a massive difference. Once taken apart and cleaned that are comparable to most cars.

 

H.I.D conversions are still a great upgrade though, but you still wont see the true affect without taking apart the headlight and cleaning them.
