  1. Loving the paint job Joel, was it expensive??
  2. Hi guys, I'm selling off a few bits and pieces in the next month or so to fund getting the Z back running. The first thing I have is a set of UK spec Silver Dials, these cost me £140 plus postage, These are rare enough to find nowadays, their brand new, never used and have only been fitted to a set of clocks for fitment purpose. Looking for £100 posted.
  3. Sorry to hear this Trish, whereabouts was the Z located, what colour, etc. and what uniformed dept was he with?? As Ian says something better will come along, there's a reason you're not supposed to get it:yes:
  4. I don't understand how these people think they can do business this way.. Lying through their teeth to get you to go to a lot of bother and expecting you to just accept it and pay up if they get caught out, just because "you've come all this way and it would be a shame to go home empty handed" attitude. It cost me €50 for diesel, I've lost €98 on the exchange rate from changing Euro to Pounds and back to Euro plus all the time travelling.. We left at 11 am and didn't get home till 9.30. The guys a Total Dick!!!
  5. £200 !!! for 2 piece wheels!!! with tires!!! Nicely done Tom:thumbup:
  6. I thought you were going to call it " THE BIG WET PURPLE MONSTER"
  7. It did indeed Jay, might be able to get the Z done as well as the Pickup:thumbup1:
  8. So as some of you are aware, I need an engine for my daily driver I rang around a few car breakers and found a few places with the correct engine but a lot of them were high milers or Mental money. I found a guy up in Newry, Northern Ireland who informed me that he had an engine out of a 2010 with 90k Km's (50k miles), the deal was he wanted £1200 stg plus a €400 deposit to get his engine and exchange my old one, he insisted that he needed stg. This cost me €1759 plus the €400 refundable deposit, I asked him on numerous occasions that it was a 2010 engine with 90kms. He assured me on each occasion that it was. I drove 3 hrs to his place to find a manky engine with the timing belt changed at 95k MILES!! He tried to tell me that they were KM's as it was a Southern reg'd pickup, I went to look at the pick up which had had a dogs life by the amount of dents and rust on it, he'd removed the no. Plates but I had a look inside and found an old insurance cert and tax disc for a 2006 l200 4Life!! Shower of lying B***ards. He then tried telling me it was a genuine mistake, Bullsh*t!!, he insisted that the engine was worth every penny and he had a lad who'd buy it, but that he felt bad that I'd had a 6 hr round trip and that I'd lose €100 changing the Stg back to Euro, he still wanted all the money and my old engine which I'd have to bring back up to him(6hrs). I told him to get lost and phoned Ken in Mullingar Car Breakers, he assured me he had a 2008 engine with 72k miles and I could hear it / see it running to verify the mileage for €1400. I told him to pull the engine and that I was on the way. Ken is a total Gentleman, he gave me the engine for €1150 as all my money was in Stg and I could only scrape up €1200 between myself and my mam who had come up with me to do some shopping. He didn't want my old engine as exchange either, so I have a few bits I can sell off to make some of my money back!! If you need car parts in Ireland, I would highly recommend Ken in Mullingar Car Dismantlers and I would avoid the other crowd in Newry as they are untrustworthy and go to great lengths to make it an expensive ordeal if you do catch them out!! If anyone's looking for the name of these Cowboy, Gangster Breakers, PM me and I'll give you their names so you don't get stung as I did!!!
  9. That's a nice looking vert, you don't see many in white, a 99 spec front and a manual TT swap would have that car sorted!!
  10. Any news on this Trish?
  11. Richie K replied to dutchgold92's topic in Events - UK
    Happy motoring mate!!:thumbup1:
  12. Well swung by the powdercoaters today to collect my parts (thank fook I'd already paid for them). I think they came out well My brand new Profec B Spec 2 turned up also:thumbup: I've got loads of parts lying around my games room and now no money to fit it all:thumbdown:
  13. Top Job Dan, loving that rear spoiler and the reg is cool!! Great car and great colour mate:thumbup:
  14. He went for a walk Jay, not a photo shoot!!! In the current day and age, I'd say if Si did go walking around taking photos of people's parked cars it wouldn't be long till the Boys in Blue turned up as he'd look like he was scoping out cars to steal.:whistling: These are the times we live in:thumbdown:
  15. They normally have separate switches Lee, if you look at modern cars, a lot of them have the front and rear fog switch on the indicator / light stalk, one rotation turns on the lights and then a kind of spring rotation to click on the front fogs with a second spring rotation to turn on the rears.
  16. I agree with the comments above, have you never had some clown driving along in front of you with his rear fogs on?? It's an absolute nightmare!! Your eyes hurt and it reduces your visibility dramatically, it also makes it harder to notice when the said offender hits the brakes and could cause you to rear end him:thumbdown:
  17. No worries mate, I'll be putting up a few things to sell in the coming weeks to try and raise enough cash to get both the jeep and the Z running:thumbup1:
  18. If you read the description it says it's a radiator hose set, that's just the top and bottom rad hoses for £112, these are £96 plus shipping from Z Centre, I've just bought a set by mistake if you're interested, you can have them for £85 plus shipping?? I'll post up a pic These are UK made SFS performance Radiator Hoses.
  19. Best of luck with it Trish, hopefully it'll all work out:thumbup1:
  20. Holy crap!!! You want to give us some details so we can keep an eye out?? I hope it wasn't too much of a deposit??
  21. Wouldn't be ready in time Jay, I've got a week to sort out the pickup as my dads sold his Pajero and needs the spare car back. Had the €1500 saved up for the mechanics to do everything on the Z but now it'll have to go on a second hand L200 engine.
  22. Thanks Si, I have a choice of getting the Z done or sorting out my daily driver which is now needed, the way I'm looking at it is.. I've waited nearly 6 years for the Z to be done, what's another 6-8 months:sad:
  23. PM me your best price Baz, something unforeseen came up yesterday and has me totally fecked for cash for the rest of the year:sad: I'm probably going to have to cancel all work on the Z till next year:thumbdown::scared:.I'll stay chipping away at the bits though :thumbup1:
  24. Ok so, does anyone have a NA diff??
  25. Ok so, I'll just get the Driftworks Hicas Delete kit. Thanks for the help guys:thumbup1:
