Right wellllllll....... to answer a few q's yes they do rust, uk one's will look to be in worse condition than import one's of the same year, reason being japan uses volcanic ash instead of salt of the roads. Insurance... well how longs a bit of string... i'm 28 live in London, drive a TT import and it cost me £500 full comp. LWB easiest way to tell is the petrol filler cap is behind the rear wheel, SWB is in front of the rear wheel, main difference is SWB has 2 seats LWB has 4, uk spec only came in TT LWB, hard tops only came in SWB, as did convertables and they only came in NA form, apart from the few that were converted. There are as reliable as they are looked after, if you look afrter it it will be reliable, but remember most are 15 years old now, so dont expect nothing to go wrong... cos it will and can be expensive to put right, there are only a few ppl i would trust to work on my car, and they are members of this club. Any thing else ask away. ;)

It's in a private carpark so not on any old road..... just cant see it from any of my flat windows...... grrrrr All sorted now, i went and got a batt charger today, i realised about the batt back up late last night..... so put down the baseball bat and went to bed, then when i took the batt off i realised why it was flat........ i put a new batt on the other week and when i connectedit up the alarm went off inmy ear, so fumbled the keysout my pocketand then totally forgot to do up the terminals..... so prob wasnt charging properly........ tw@t any ways all done now and fully charged, may even take it for a spin later......... ;) Cheers Neil

I hads this.. when the car was sprayed they took off the doors and rather than feed thecables through they cut them and then just crimped them back together again.... grrrrr i didnt think it woulod make a difference, but the crimps came out and the alram shut down, not it he way yours has but acted like it wasnt even connected.... i could start the car normally but had no alarm of immob features..... connected back up and everything works again... point less and no use to your situation... just thought i'd share with you lol ;)

Errrrr ???? 36,000 miles i think might be a little more. It's been off the road for about4 years and only been in uk for since 2002 so...... sounds about right actually but as you say worth replacing while your there, especially if there only pennies....

im board too, but all the thingsineedto do to the Zed are up in the garage with the Ex!! grrrrr i couldhave spent the whole day puttingthe interiorback in and sound proofing everything, running power RCA, VGA and USB cables...... now im pised off and board!!!!! grrrrrrr. Neil

I know how you feel.... same happened to me last week too :cry: 6 years, 2 kids and also planning on marrying... again my fault.... i worked away in London all week and only went home of the weekends..... wanted to get a place down here together but 7 months later we hadn't, Again long story short..... i miss her and the kids too :cry: Neil

If you turn on your head lights and all you get is the main beem, then your fuse has gone, i had this when the fuse in the foot well went. i'd start with that..... i think it's a15amp one on the top row. HTH Neil

Well i've just gone down to the Zed... the batt is completely dead????? i only went out earlier.....hmmmm ~I've just come down and a little worried that some chavs are setting the alaram off on purpose trying to flatten the batt to nick it....... i've only been here 2 days adn dont knowanyone well enought to knock on there door, specially to let them know the batt is dead and the alarms not working!!! Anybody in my local area(London E1.. whitechapel), got a jumper thing, that they can pop round to me, or a car and a set of jump leads, all my stuff is in the garage at my old house and well things anit exactly great which is why me and thet Zed are here... any way long story short..... i need some help........ anyone????
