Reading meet 21st June (date changed)
Was a good turn out last night - sorry I had to leave early - got a call that my mother had been taken ill so had to rush off half way through the meet Nice talking to you Mark - liked the wheels - made me even more determined to get mine sorted soon The Esprit was not only rough but parked a liitle close to me and threw his doors open a bit to wide for my liking - slight chip on my passenger door handle to prove ! See you all next meet - work permitting - one time I'm gonna suprise everyone and bring my 2 seater 280 ZX down

Pistonheads Virginia Waters meet 5th February
We followed the crowd as they left Bracknell - snuck in behind a Lotus and the grey Smart Car - all seemed ok until they split up - we stuck with the Lotus - who sped off into the fog - put my foot down to keep up only to get flashed by an oncoming BMW driver - assumed we were approaching either a speed trap or a camera - so I backed off a bit - lost the Lotus completely and ended up well and truly lost - not a major problem as I just pulled over as soon as I had room - checked the mirror so I could turn around only to find I'd been followed by a Porsche and a Ferrari !! - Ha ha Doubled back and took the more obvious route down the 329M to Ascot and followed the signs to VW - plenty of other cars looked as lost as we were

Pistonheads Virginia Waters meet 5th February
We made it - got there about 11:30 (via the Bracknell run) - parking was a nightmare - and only got worse for those after us - Saw at least 6 other 300 ZX's - one 350Z and one 200 SX - at one point almost every other car was a TVR !!! Got to talk to David from Rice Rocket & Paul Stevens and a couple of other owners Left about half 2 and headed home - just as the sun came out and starting to warm things up a bit Will post some pictures up soon cheers Ian & Sam

Pistonheads Virginia Waters meet 5th February
Paul I'm definitely going Have 3 possible others from elsewhere as well - one almost definite lady from Epsom (Kathy) and 2 more likley from amongst the Z Club members who contacted me recently Sure I've seen another 2 or 3 defiinite 'intentions' on this forum So that should be a good 5 or 6 ZX's (maybe) in amongst the 200 or so TVR and Lotus owners !!

keyring?
And a key-ring would be cool if they're available

Single women with kids.......
PMSL Best look for the ones with most offspring then ! Hmm casts new light on certain people I know !! - although 2 still seems to be the average
-
Single women with kids.......
As already said - there's nowt wrong with Kids - I'm married - but no kids - and not likely to have any either - but we have friends with kids - we're Godparents to some - so we still get all the fun - kiddy days out and stuff - swimming - cinema etc - and we get to hand them back at the end of it ! They don't fit very well in the back of a 2+2 though !

Ice - (of The Cold Variety)
Thanks - it's on my to do list for this coming week - I'm taking my 280 ZX for it's MOT this week so may ask the same guy to take a quick look and slip him some cash for his trouble - assume it's easiest done while up on a ramp so it can be got at from underneath .... assuming the belts ok he can just tighten what's there Ice not as bad this morning as I remembered the blanket at about midnight last night ! - still had a bit to sort - but windscreen and targa panels were covered overnight so had a much easier journey this morning
-
Ice - (of The Cold Variety)
It apparently had all the belts changed last November as part of it's 60K Service - although I got no proof of such in the sales paperwork Are they easy to adjust ? Would they need re-tightening again so soon if they were done in November ? It only squeels in the cold at first start up - and soon stops once car is moving Any help or advice greatly appreciated
-
Ice - (of The Cold Variety)
Assume the Targa panel glass is strong enough to take this abuse ? Have just been down to my car in the works multi-storey and taken a look - all seems ok - checked round the internal joins and seals no signs of any leaks or damage Got an old car cover in the garage so will use that tonight - although it always leads to condensation when used on previous vehicles I've owned
-
Ice - (of The Cold Variety)
Comforting to know I'm not alone !! Intend to get the belt tightened soon - just not got around to it
-
Ice - (of The Cold Variety)
After much scraping and de-icing at half six this morning I slowly edged my car out of my drive and onto the road Usual Fan belt squealing to wake the neighbours !! Eventually got my windows to work up/down and wiped the mirrors off a bit Full demist and heat on windscreen eventually cleared my view so I could see where I was going - and wipers finally kicked in to clear the last of the ice But what really freaked me out was the cracking noises all around my head as I picked up speed and joined the motorway - Turns out it was the Ice on the Targa roof slowly cracking and then letting go as I sped along - very spooky - had to turn the music up to stop it distracting me as I flew along Think I'll put her under a blanket tonight !!

Pistonheads Virginia Waters meet 5th February
I'm definitely going to this meet There is a local cruise / run going from Bracknell's ''The Point'' about 11am Sunday morning so I will be heading out about half 10 from Woodley and driving down the 329M to Bracknell Any others planning on going ? Hope to meet up and not be the only 300 ZX on the day ... cheers Ian
-
Squeeling lightened pulleys.
Same embarassing cold squeal on start up - so will ask my local garage to tighten the belts - is it a straight forward job and will a non Z garage know how to do it properly - I assume belts are belts regardless of the car make

First Thames Valley 'AWOL' meet - 5th February 2006
Copied across from my entry on the Z Club meetings forum : Right seeing as I've had no real response on the planned Sunday lunch meet at the Calcot Hotel - only 3 positives and 1 maybe from Suzy so far - how about a slightly revised plan for the day Still Sunday the 5th of Feb as that is my first full weekend off this year Piston Heads forum members have planned a meet at Virginia Waters - not that far from Reading - and their forum seems to suggest that anything upwards of 150 plus cars may well attend - and it's on Sunday 5th Feb !! They say it starts around 10am - assume it's park up and view other cars - and then on somehwere local for lunch etc Link below : http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?p=5&f=65&t=229518&h=0 Local meet up in Bracknell from 10:40 apparently : copied from their site : - Hi All, just a reminder to people around the Bracknell area that want to take a group run to V.W. on the 5th February. 10:40am we'll meet at "THE POINT / Peale Centre". We'll set off at 11:00am to V.W. and we'll have a little run to V.W. Please register your interest on the thread if interested so i have an idea of number for the Bracknell run. Map of "The Point" Location: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=486703&y=169 So rather than be 3 lonely Z owners in the Calcot hotel car park I suggest that we all drive across to Virginia Waters and participate in the Piston Heads meet instead won't await any definite responses - just look forward to meeting people on the day

Reading jap meet 12 jan
Great turnout Even the non-Jap stuff was nice to look at My wife is now torn between wanting a Red 300 ZX TT or a Supra - like the black one that turned up late this evening My god-children thought it was ''Awe-some'' - even if it was a little cold out !! KFC - Ice Cream - and loads of cool cars - what more could kids possibly want ? Nice to put some faces to names - and good to get to see some wheel choices up close before I choose what I want to replace my rather dull stock ones Great evening out - thanks guys Hopefully get around to joining up properly over the weekend with a Paypal payment regards Ian / The Grey 300 NA Import with the light grey leather interior Still squealing in the cold !! Must get that belt looked at soon !!
