Japanese Performance Sunday - 24 September 2006
Thanks Eileen Had to go into hospital briefly last night - but was sent home after 4 hours of observations - they have given me stronger pain-killers and anti-inflammeteries and I got a resonable nights sleep - so feeling slightly better today Hope Sunday's show was a success Ian

Japanese Performance Sunday - 24 September 2006
Unlikely that I'll make it now  Car is currently off the road - oil leak and puncture Easy enough to fix but am laid low with a virus that the doc says has caused the membrane around my heart to swell and put pressure on my lungs - so am laid up in bed resting with so called ''Perricarditis'' - not nice - short of breath and chest pain - would rather be at a Car show ! Hope it goes well and the weather improves for those that do make it regards Ian

Reading meet, sept 19th...
Sadly can't make this meet - but having seen the move notification thought I better warn you that the new location car park is often monitored by stewards due to the 2 hour max parking rule - and they sometimes work late into the evening One steward in particular can be a right jobs-worth and may not take too kindly to numerous Jap cars and owners filling what he believes to be his own personal car park I used to visit friends that lived on the Kings Road in Reading just around he corner from this car park - and occasionally parked there if other spaces weren't available - The stewards not only check the times that you park but also insist that parking is only for people who use the shops Would hope you'll be ok after 6pm though Spose you could always go in the McD's and use the loo !! Hope the meet goes well - maybe I'll make the next one

Glad the evening went well - Sam said she enjoyed it - and she even gets to drive the car again tomorrow morning as she needs to be at work before I get back from my night shift - so she's pleased she gets to drive the Z a while longer speak soon Ian

July Reading Meet
Mark no sorry - I didn't get his name - one of the guys you were talking to when you were admiring the shine on my car !! Was there when the crappy Lotus turned up Showed you and him the new carpet and tonneau cover in my boot and he commented that he was only after the Grey clips from the bottom of the blind Never mind - if he turns up I'll make sure Sam has the blind ready for him enjoy tomorrow evening - Please introduce yourself to my wife as she's worried she won't know anyone ! She's worried she'll be out of place amongst a load of guys discussing BHP and torque values and wheel sizes etc etc :x: .....

July Reading Meet
As already said - I can't make this one as I'm working nights in Bracknell all week However my wife (Sam) has said she will go if I let her drive the Z !! So you shouldn't be the only woman there Eileen Look out for her - she'll be driving very carefully (I hope) in my 300 N/A - Graphite Grey with Grey Leather interior - or just look for the bemused Redhead ... Hope the evening goes well and there are no accidents !!!!! Mark W / Lemming - I will put my spare old Tonneau blind in the boot if I remember tomorrow morning - one of your mates wanted the fastening clips off of the bottom of it - Can't remember his name - he can have the whole blind for a fiver !

Finally bought a Z! Help with ICE and re-trim please
Hi I'm in Reading - well Woodley actually - so we'll have to arrange to meet up When I was restoring my Datsun 280 ZX I needed a new headliner making and found a really good and local - one man business - re-trimmer - who made me a brand new fabric headliner on my original foam covered inlay - exact colour match to the seats etc - and all for only £85 - looks like it did the day Datsun first made it - superb job I fiited it myself to save a little - but all told he did a superb job and I'd be more than happy to recomend his services to any one looking for re-trim work The day I visited him he had a soft-top Jag in his garage having a whole new canopy built and pictures of many of his previous projects - so he knows what he's doing for sure His name is Paul and his company is called AutoTrim - 01189 868470 - lives near Asda in Lower Earley Good luck with the Z

Central locking and weird feedback through Stereo
Three days ago my Z started displaying two intermittent problems - I assume both may be related and both appear to be electrical The Central locking has stopped working completely - Have tried my spare keys and no difference - so I know it's not the battery in the fob Have to lock and un-lock by Key - The Immobiliser cut out also requires two key fob clicks and that seems to still work - although somewhat hit and miss if I'm impatient with it Face off stereo - works ok - CD Player only - Radio is crap anyway - drive around for varying lengths of time - all appears ok - then an almighty feedback squeeling noise - much louder than the volume is set at - through all 4 speakers - really painful - sounds like interference of some sort ... Take off face plate - wait 5 minutes or so - put it back in and all works again as it should - really weird !! Lights - wipers - demist - Aircon - etc - all other Electrical systems seem to be working ok Any suggestions ??? Really appreciate any help you guys can suggest
