  1. I had the same problem and couldnt find a slim enough puller anywhere, I dont know why they had to make the casting so close! Some people grind them to open them up and get them off. I managed to get a wedge in behinde and bash it off slowly, just be careful of the oil pump casing. I was replacing my pump so it didnt matter, but I didnt damage it anyway. I think Turboz is refering to the pulley infront of the timing pulley in respect to the underdrive one. If you need a new timing pulley they are about £25 from MJP p.s get some penetrating spray on it, as they rust on cause when people change the water pump/pipes etc... it runs all over the pulley and they rust together. Copper slip is your friend when going back on, but not too much as you dont want it going on the new rubber seal you put in, as copper slip can attack rubber and its not something you wanna change too often
  2. Thats cleard things up, what I thought was Det is actually Pre-ignition. :headvswal
  3. Mine did that, it was the oil pump
  4. I bought my oil pump from the states, sooooooooo much cheaper!!
  5. I took the air con matrix out cause it does weigh a bit! Tape over the gap on the housing and popped her back in!
  6. I did mine in 7 hours first time. Then I had to take it out again when I broke my car, lol
  7. Get some aftermarket pads, if original calipers I used Hawk and they were a great improvement, not too expensive from what I remember
  8. I'd go for centre prop bearing
  9. Why manwell not manual, some joke I dont get I guess........?
  10. I looked into getting into that. Searched the net but didnt really come up with anything! Seemed more like you gotta know someone?
  11. I wouldnt get another. I dont think she'd stop me if I really wanted one, but after two bad ones Id be silly to get another! But, if by some miracle my mortgage was payed off by someone, then I'd get another as I would have loads of money to play with! but with my financial situation as it is im staying car less and just using her car!!
  12. Made what I payed for it, and I even sold some things redicuously cheap! (spelling?) Want to get another one, I keep looking in the 'for sale' but had two bad Z's so really shouldnt!!!!
  13. Shell has gone for scrap, so thats another one gone!!! Just some rear lights left, then thats everything Z gone.
  14. My bike ran fine after lying on its side, after sliding down the road...lol
  15. Or go back to Jessops and they match internet prices and you can have it there and then!
  16. Shit happens mate, I was Z cursed from the begining! I kinda feel bad cause I said I would look after her, which I did, but money got too much and wasnt in a state to sell whole. A waste of a good Z!
  17. 87mm is standard, so bore out to 87.5mm would fit forged pistons. I had JE pistons. 89mm would see you with a 3.1ltr engine, but I think from reading stories and a few pics, that its pushing it a little at 89mm. I think someone said you can get 87mm forged pistons, but really I guess your better off getting it bored out and then you'll have nice new machined bores! 87.5mm would be good.
  18. I just left them, they can direct some air towards the filter anyway!
  19. Vista, hahaha, Vista 32 bit is ok as its supported quite a bit by manufactures, but if you have vista 64, dont even install it, nothing is support! wait till the end of the year for that. I would stick to XP! Plus Vista drains your system compared to XP!
  20. I just went to Jessops, had a look and a chat to one of the guys, he seemed to know quite a lot, and then chose one!
  21. Yea, c'mon, its to pick up the rest of my Z and I really want it out the way this weekend!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Parcels2go I used for Bird. £10.99 a wheel it was.
  23. 87mm standard 2960cc 87.5mm (like I had, JE pistons) 2993cc 89mm 3097cc 90mm 3167cc Thats all with standard 83mm stroke.
