take the door card off. You should see a yellow plastic clip on the end of the barrel. I dont have the photos I took anymore.

When you say "spin 5 times" do you mean complete rotations one after the other without turning it back the other way, if so somethings busted. Mine did that and the plastic clip on the other side of the barrel was snapped.

All good, but its not going to get the last shitty bit of oil out on the bottom with all the crap in. Also IIRC theres a magnet on the sump plug, how you going to clean that and inspect for lumps of metal...

also, I replaced my oil pump for other reasons, cost me about £140 for the pump from the states. In the UK it was around £180 and it took me 12 hours to fit with the engine in. Nightmare of a job.

I found my actual sender unit was broken. I repaired it and it all worked fine after. But still had an aftermarket gauge as well.

Whats the file type your trying to compress? Some files dont compress much more, i.e JPEGS
