Need help in replacing my stock auto shifter stick with another one (this one is leather from a series 2). I had a crash course from Chunk but have totally forgotten what was said as I was high on coke (no, I meant coca cola, Chunk please vouch for me). Now what is the easiest and painless way to do this ? Would it be asking too much for a do it yourself step by step instruction ? Thanking you all in advance for being a pain.

The following was posted by wez (thanks dude) back in May last year: "Replacing The Horns Just done this job may save a few of you the hassle Tools axle stands or ramps WD40 10mm socket 1) Put the front of the car by ramps or axle stands as you will be working from underneath. 2)Remove the middle protective panel that is held in place by 10mm bolts and nuts.These may need a bit of WD as a few of my ones have broke 3)Once this panel is removed you can see both horns ,disconnect the wire(+) from the horn .Then undo the 10mm nut from the back job done. 4)The new horns where put back in with a new earth strap ,then replaced everthing as before" As I am about to replace my horns, am slightly confused on few of the above points (trust me, this is due to my pure ignoramous). Where is the middle protective panel located ? Also, my new horns have 2 connections on them each, assuming + & -, I was hoping to just take the old horns out and use their existing wiring to power up the new ones (assuming again old horns each have + & - connections). If this is the case then where does the earth strap come into the equation (infact where is it meant to go and what does it do) ? Thanking you all for being patient with me.

Ok, I know this may be an overkill but couldn't resist them, I bought some Sealey Low Axle Stands and they are 7.5 tons each ! I haven't lost the plot yet but thought what the heck, I can also use them on my E Class and Transam. Thank you all for being patient with me ! I am aware that I can be annoying at times !

ohhh ! I have no intention of dying yet ! So do you think to be on the safe side I go for a 4 tone each stand ?

Are 3 ton (each) axle stands sufficient for the Zed's weight or do I need to get even more heavy duty ones ? Thanks

Not that I know of as my secretary has one and there's no airbag there.

I actually questioned that myself and its a typo error. I can confirm its a 3.5 tonne jack as its on the paperwork I received with it.

Just picked up the low level trolley jack from Watford for £49.99. They have a few in stock so hurry if you are after one of these. Just tried it on the Zed and its a dream, as goes right underneath without any clearance problems. I think this is the best investment of my Zed so far. Don't get the inflatables as they are dangerous. I used them on my Supra and very very unstable as they tend to slip and slide all over the place. Also they are prone to punctures at the slightest sharp surface even like gravel etc.

I need to buy a pair of car ramps and a low level trolley jack. Any advice on whats the best one for the Z in respect to weight tolerance/clearance etc. (i.e. don't want ramps/jack to collapse or take off my stock bumper when driving/jacking up. !) Where do I buy them from and how much do I need to spend ? Thanking you all in advance.

Does this also mean I don't need to track the car ? Or shall I do tracking and see ? Can someone put in a good word above into the heavens as I need a miracle now ! Why does it have to my Zed ? Shall I buy a Supra ? Lonely & Confused.

Well, if I go over 50mph the steering wheel vibrates. If I brake the steering wheel vibrates ! Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst, could it be just tracking ?

Ever since I put on a different set of alloys on my Zed the steering wheel vibrates above 50mph. The alloys were from another zed so they are the correct fittment. I went to get the front tyres balanced today and to my astonishment both front tyres have severe wear (smooth as hell) on the inside wall. The rear are fine. I got them balanced but the vibration is still there and now even when I brake I can feel more steering wheel juddering. So annoying its unbelievable. I was going to get it tracked but thought I would ask you guys first for your opinions. Any ideas what this can be ? Thanking you all in advance.

I would check the power steering pump. Check the power steering reservoir for amount of oil level. Also look at the pipes to see if there are any obvious leaks. Low revs and hard steering normally leads to a dodgy pump.

Oh man ! How come my zed don't talk ? I constanty talk to it but it never talks back. Is it because its an import ? If mine stuttered then I would take it to a speech therapist.
