I think Paul has 10's, and it looks borderline, but I think if you fit slightly narrower tyres it will be ok. Not like these daft drifters, where there's about an inch of rim visible before you see rubber, just a slightly narrower tyre. What wheels are you thinking of? D.

vibrating problem
It could just need disconnected at the rear join, and rotated till it's balanced. You'll only need to do it a maximum of three times to find out, lol. (4 bolts) What about the wheel bearing, have you crossed that off the list? You need to take someone out in the car who is willing to sit in the back with the seats folded down...........(sounding really dodgy here, lol).........and listen for where exactly the noise is coming from. We can train dogs to find drugs and crims, surely we can have a special "Find the noise" dog?

Hi
Welcome. If you're after a Scooby thrasher, then you'll need the Twin turbo, either manual or auto, both can be tuned equally as well. And as mentioned previously, you need a black one as they are scientifically proven * to be the fastest colour. However, the zed is a very complex animal, and when something goes wrong it can take a while to figure out exactly what :wack: This forum is essential for any owner though, and problems can usually be sorted out within a couple of years ;) Prices for Zeds are all over the place, but if you're prepared to travel then you can pick up a bargain. Personally I would reccomend a Jap import, as they won't have been attacked by the brittish roads all their lifes like the unfortunate UK models :( Good luck on your quest. If all else fails, find the girl who "Owned you", marry her, and you'll have the best of both worlds ;) * Total made up lie

Zippo style lighters
I wasn't necessarily talking about one for me. I was trying to help you, as I think you'd get more sales if it was a proper Zed, instead of any old Z from a font list. But as it happens, I am a smoker, and would be interested in one, but not with that style of Zed. D.

Annoying TV Adverts.
Awesome thread, well overdue!! I voted for the Corsa one. While the others are equally ****, the Corsa one really annoys me. It's like they are trying to invent a new catch-phrase, but it doesn't make any bloody sense. Creatures shouting "C'Mon" at a passing car? Fair enough if it was the driver, trying to hurry his passengers up, but it's just wrong. However, the one that sends us flying for the pause button, is the "Yoooooooooooooooooo" (Click) ;) AND WHY DOES BARRY HAVE TO SHOUT ALL THE TIME!!!!!! I quite like the "Josh, Dad's found ye scoo-ahh" one, lol. Thought the wifey was quite sexy. What's the one with the big fat grumpy guy, "are you in dept" etc etc. Reminds me of the fat guy from that famous Monty Python sketch..."Just a wefah theen meent sir" lol. There's loads of good adverts though. May need to start another thread for that ;)

Zippo style lighters
I like the idea, but is there any chance you could put the proper "Z" on it? I made one in Corel and exported it as an EPS if it's any use to you? Dave. Example:

someone keeps letting my tyres down.
Or.... Fill the tyres with methane, see how long they last before they puke. Although you might just end up with streams of sick at each corner of your car lol
-
someone keeps letting my tyres down.
Looks like you'll be spending a night or two in the car ;) If you're in the back, with a dark sleeping back they won't notice you. Just don't take a Lilo out with you. You know it will be flat in the morning

Been ripped off wiv TAX - PLEASE READ
Why is there such an urgency on this forum to delete threads? Too much brushing under the carpet if you ask me. It's also an insult to anyone who has take the time to write replies, good or bad. I quite like to see what people write "in the heat of the moment". It shows true colours, and potentially warns future posters about certain people. Or maybe that's what folk want to hide ;)

Been ripped off wiv TAX - PLEASE READ
LOL, like the DVLA and banks are angels and always get things right? I currently have two fines for not paying tax on cars I scrapped or sorned three months ago. I notified them at the time and have proof. As for banks, don't even go there. :smash: There's two main issues on this thread that hack me off. No contact from the "Victim" to the "accused" Mob rule without knowing the facts. Both show a severe lack of maturity.

Been ripped off wiv TAX - PLEASE READ
I'm pretty dusgusted at some of the posts on this thread. I have been a close friend of Steve's for several years, and he is an honest and good person. To even think he is capable of deception is such an insult. We drove his Porsche down from Glasgow, leaving at 2am, and getting to London for about 7.30am. We gave it a clean and polish before arriving at our final destination. Steve is meticulous with his cars, and the Porsche could not have been any cleaner or straighter. As far as he was concerned, everything was in order, including paperwork. Before ranting on a public forum, a simple PM or phone call is all it takes to sort out a problem. Since we picked up Steve's 300, it has had several problems, none of which he has mentioned to the previous owner: Power steering pump knackered (not jus needing bled as advertised) Radiator burst on the way home Radiator pipes burst Boost pipe burst Exhaust back boxes blown (mot fail) Clutch gone within 2 weeks (now replaced) Major fault with the speed convertor (cutting the engine when you adjust the electric seat!!!) A few more I won't bother mentioning. So, be very careful what you post on a public forum, if you don't get the facts right, it's bound to come back and bite you on the ass. Dave.

Need a help
What is it with Dave's and Zeds in my area???? I'm Dave, in Parkhouse, just down the road from you. There's Daz (David) Just down the road from me on Pete road Then there's David in Thornliebank, just as you come into TB from Paisley direction And now there's YOU, also in Thornliebank lol. We're having a few zed's round tonight for some tech stuff, so you're welcome to come along, but be quick if you want a parking space, lol. Send me a PM and I'll give you the address. Dave.

why hasnt any tried this yet?
I currently have a Z project under way, and looking at achieving the 500 bhp mark. However, after watching Top Gear for the last couple of weeks, with the un-controllable 600 bhp Merc, and the un-usable 600bhp Lambo, I need to ask myself "What's the point?" These companies have spent millions on development for these power upgrades, and still can't get it to work. Do I honestly think I will have better luck with my 15 year old car, working on it in my driveway in between rain showers? :D Probably not, but it will be worth a giggle ;) I think the Standard Zed engine style can produce more than we can handle as it is without introducing an even more powerfull block. I love my V6. It looks insanely complicated to the un-trained eye (and even more so to the trained, lol) But it sounds fantastic, and has the best feature of all..... TORQUE

Help Please
Ummm, what's the point of this post exactly? :smw:

not a zed problem but...
PMSL, never even occurred to me
-
not a zed problem but...
And no Kirbz, that's not why I fitted those Magnicor leads to mine
-
not a zed problem but...
Here's a photo in case you get lost... I wouldn't have thought bad leads would have caused the engine speed to rise.
-
not a zed problem but...
Sounds like an air leak prob to me. If it's the same basic engine as the older one's, there's a sneeky wee fault that sometimes occurs, that you just won't find unless you know it's there, lol. Try this one: Looking at the engine from the front of the car, to the left of the engine, at the back, between the engine and firewall.... About half way down the inlet manifold there is a large vacuum pipe which should have a rubber cap on it. It's about 1cm in diameter and an inch long. If the cap isn't there, then that's your problem. Someone pointed this out to me years ago when we had a 5 with this problem, and I was stunned by his knowledge. Hopefully yours will be the same and I can in turn claim "brain of the year" :hyper: If it's not that, f**k knows  But I'd look for other vacuum leaks ;)

Guess what I have bought today!
No, they HAD to use the Teflon additive just to get the lumps to go over 50. Black needs no cheating chemical. Think about it..... Bat-mobile - Black Night-rider - Black Mad Max Falcon - Black And taking it further.... Stealth bombers - Black Nuclear Subs - Black I mean, what's red? Magnum's Ferrari? About as fast as his Porno mustache

tb bypass quicky!
LOL, obvious??? Your title was "TB Bypass quickly", and you specifically mentioned Throttle body in the first post. Forgive us for not understanding what you actually meant to type, lol. I love to help folk when I can, but I was genuinely stumped as to what on earth you were talking about. Is it not just a case of joining the two copper pipes with a bit of hose and a couple of clips? Don't know why you would want to envolve the turbos. Dave.

House hunting woes - Advice needed
Mike, I got the distinct impression from your folks today that they were looking forward to getting thier garage back, lol. Aparts from that, the house looks very nice. I can just imagine the lovely monoblock now, big puddles of oil and anti-freeze

Guess what I have bought today!
Unfortunately these poor souls with red cars are blissfully unaware that Nissan added a special chemical to their red paint, which when activated by interior heaters, expells a mild dose of LSD, which makes the occupants believe they are in a really fast car. The fastest colour is of course black. No paint additives in my car ;)

puppy has to
That is really sad. We were going to get a dog later this year. We're going to Florida in summer, so didn't want to abandon the poor thing so soon, so we're waiting till we get back. If it wasn't for that, I'd be the first to offer it a good home :(
