  1. Awesome, well done. Looks like there was a bit of Corvette influence considered, thankfully ignored, lol. Also saw a bit of Reliant scimitar sneaking in, but again, didn't make it, lol. Great article.
  2. I read "Angels and Demons" by Dan brown, which featured a huge underground particle accelorator. How surprised was I when Discovery "Megamachines" did a docu on the one in Austria, or somewhere like that. Fiction suddenly became fact. Huge amount of money being spent on basically a theory, lol, madness. Pretty cool though.
  3. wow. Looks suspiciously like he was trying top himself tbh. Should be looked up (for wasting a car like that ;-) )
  4. I'm from Glasgow, not FAE Glesga, lol. Utterly despise the accent and bad English. I have two young boys at primary, and some of the rubbish they come home with disgusts me. The teachers are fighting a losing battle. They want to teach good grammer, but without offending the kids who have grown up with such phrases as... "Am urr" - (I am) "Stoap it!" - (Stop it) "Geezit" - (Give me it) "How no!" - (why not?) The list goes on, lol. I'm not some sort of upper-class know-it-all, but the abuse of the English language really annoys me, and don't start me on the Murkins ;)
  5. Don't know what all the fuss is about. Mine was done in about 5 minutes. (Paul) "Do you want to buy my shiney plenum?" (Me) "Ok, what's your Paypal addy?" Job's a good un  Seriously, I did mine on my MX5, and it was a biatch of a job. I wouldn't recommend to anyone, lol. About half way through you'll regret it, but have no choice other than continue. Pay someone else to do it, you'll thank me for it :duffer:
  6. I'm about your best bet buddy, lol, I'm in Glasgow. Give me all the details, I'll make plans. Dave.
  7. Member makes post about another car site (girls only) Some of us make jest about girl drivers Girls get offended Girl defends us blokes Cat-Fight Thread closed That about sums it up ;)
  8. If you have a point, make it fast!!! :D
  9. Definately the right choice. My wife has a gorgeous white RX7, which I get to play with at the weekends (wash and polish for her :wack: ) You would have regretted buying to be honest. It's cramped inside and performance does not justify fuel consumption. We test drove some Evo's before deciding on the Rex. They all seemed slow, a lot slower than my Zed, which surprised me. Love the look of them though, but love my Zed more :)
  10. LOL, I wish I'd thought of that! Long overdue, well done that gang.
  11. Nope, not me you beat. I didn't get my car till 2006. And thansk for the support Paul you C**t  D.
  12. Oh, I'll join you in this as I'm about to do the same, if the rain ever goes off, grrr. How about we post pictures here, for each other and everyone else thinking of doing it? Pictures of the cars of course :)
  13. I've found the Zed quite controlable for sideways action. Only downside I can think of is, perhaps with the V6 engine layout, oil delivery to the appropriate areas might be tricky with constant sideways force, and hence engine failure more likely. Other than that, I don't see why it's any different from any other RWD turbo job. D.
  14. I'll ask Daz and Davey if they are up for it too.
  15. Need to emphasize above comment. You will need a long extension, preferably about three wobblies to reach the top bolts for the gearbox. You need to feed the extensions over the top of the back of the gearbox, and then find someone to position the socket onto the nut. I think it's only one of them that's a real pain. Apart from that, and the exhaust studs potentially shearing, it's a relatively easy job.
  16. Sounds good to me
  17. Been to every Rotorstock, it's a great event and is possibly at Santa Pod this year. TOTB is great, but won't be ready to enter this year, but will attend. USSC, defo. And of course, the Z club challenge :D
  18. LOL, and unless I'm very much mistaken, that was the mating call of the Blue Whale just at the end
  19. My Slick top leaks :D Possibly because the drivers window is from a 2+2 and I have half an inch gap, lol. I'll get a new window soon, honest. My 2+2 driver's side leaks a bit, but I don't care, it's not the end of the world now is it.
  20. That's another fine mess you got me into..
  21. Andy, I love your optimism :) I used to be like that ;) No, seriously, I think I've got my Zeds at the right time. There's definately a lot more available for the beasty now, but as Paul said, no-one in Scotland to work on them. It's gonna be a steeeeeeep learning curve for me :D
  22. Someone's living in a dreamworld, lol. There's only a couple of decent Jap tuners in this country, and I know they charge a fortune. Even then, they make mistakes, no one is perfect. It would be great if you bought all the bits, got them fitted cheap, and everything went smoothly, but it just doesn't work like that. I reckon more money and time is spent on repairs and fine tuning, than the initial job it'self. Rolling road and mapping sessions can be very expensive, and not always get the results required, so need to be done again once the fuelling, or boost problems are rectified. I'm not saying the "import a monster" is the best solution, after all, who the hell is going to touch someone else's Frankenstein when it breaks? I like to play with engines and stuff, but I would'nt know where to start with one of these creations. There's an awefull lot of people obsessed with high BHP figures, instead of actual performance figures. I would say, for a street 300zx, anything over 450 is a waste of time, and rubber. I have about 350 in my Zed, and for the streets it's plenty fast enough. If you're planning for the track, well you have a whole new kettle of fish to think about. If it's a quarter miler you want, then you'll need expensive slicks and a proper soft suspension setup. Also, bullet-proof transmission components and traction controll. If you want it to go round corners and stop, well, suspension again and serious brakes are required. It all comes down to what you're going to do with the car. My solution is simple, but not cheap :D Two cars. A LWB, mildly tuned and looking pretty for the road, and a SWB slick-top for the track. And if they break, well I only have myself to blame :x: Easy ;)
  23. One of my pet hates is the Lambo door thing. If anyone has ever seen the kit in the flesh, they'll know just how garbage they actually are. I've only ever once been in a car with Lambo doors that worked well, but strangely enough it was actually a Lamborghini Diablo ;) As for the rest of that car........ Skip it!
  24. When I did an engine swap on mine I got a real scary ticking tapping noise. Thought I'd done something majorly wrong. It just needed time for all the oil to circulate properly. Possibly because I'd used an engine flush in the engine before I drained it, and it sat for a wee while before I did the swap. I also have a trust oil cooler, and had to add more oil once it was warmed up. D.
  25. I played it once, then flogged it on Ebay while it was still worth something. Content was garbage, playability was ok, and a million times better than NFS Carbon.
