  1. I would maybe suggest Toddington services on the M1 then? As Baldock is the wrong direction for me and the chap from Flitwick.
  2. Sure, where do you want to meet? I don't know the area that well as I've moved from up North. Let me know a time and place and I'll see you there.
  3. I'll see if I can make it. Will be my first car meet in Zelda :)
  4. If nobody else has dibs on it I'll bring my wallet. :tongue_smilie:
  5. Yeah, I thought about getting hold of another dash or perhaps getting it trimmed in black leather if that's doable? Will have to have a word with Si (Mondo) he's probably busy and I'm probably skint but would like to change some of the interior to leather and alcantara. That red nose badge looks better than I expected... Might have to give it a go...
  6. Yeah, that my thoughts too. It has a black "Z" badge in the middle of the dash which has a hole underneath it so I think they used it to cover up a hole left by some extra dash mounted gauges. Bit annoying really and I think I will put a Z badge on it at somepoint just don't know what colour to go for. I saw a Blue one which looked pretty swish but I reckon I'll probably just go for black.
  7. Very nice. I like where this is going. Shall have to make a note of this thread :)
  8. Thanks guys, I'm absolutely chuffed to bits with it. It's such a satisfying car to drive and they're genuinely rare and unusual these days. One guy asked me if it was a Trans Am. He thought I was driving round in KITT from Knight Rider or something haha. Got a few more pics (sorry for uploading them in stages, my mind just can't compute all of them at once) so here goes! Whilst the standard wheels are actually pretty nice (especially as far as 90's cars go) I thought the car could be made to look a bit cooler if it had something a bit more meaty. A set of decent condition Volk Evolution 4, forged 18's came up for sale at a good price so last weekend I took a trip to gravesend to go get them. Gave them a wash and put them on the car and this is what she looks like now. Very happy. As for the future? It's a lovely car and I think it would make a great GT car for road trips and going to Wales etc. things like that so that will probably what I use it for and will maybe make a few slight modifications if I see room for improvement. I say this but last time I bought a car and said I wasn't going to modify it I developed a carbon fibre addiction and this happened... But the Mazda was a rusty old basket case with 140,000 miles on it that I got for £900 so I didn't feel bad about hacking that up. Hopefully having a minty fresh car will stop me from being tempted... :tongue_smilie::innocent:
  9. I had some fun with the car over the Christmas holidays whilst visiting my family near York. This included a trip to Whitby via the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge on Boxing Day. Would highly recommend this for a drive, spectacular roads and scenery, a decent pub halfway there and awesome fish and chips once you get to Whitby :) Here are some pictures from that day, I was very pleased that I managed to keep up with my friends M4 because that's a flipping quick car! This is the same road used by Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear for his feature on the BMW i8, properly good road as long as you watch out for sheep! After this a friend of mine who is a great photographer took some pictures of the car. I'll post a few below but the link to the full album is: https://www.facebook.com/pg/ADImagesUK/photos/?tab=album&album_id=10154865545589520
  10. I'm not sure if this is the correct place to start a build/project thread so let me know if I need to move it elsewhere. On the 3rd of December I picked up a really nice fresh import from the lovely people at Torque GT in Devon. If anyone is looking to import a car I'd highly recommend them but that's another discussion. I got a toy 300ZX when I was 4 and since then I've always wanted one. Getting a PS1 with Gran Turismo only made the obsession worse so for the past few years it's always been in the back of my mind to get one but I wanted to go all out and get the best one I could afford. Zelda is completely rot free, literally not a bit. I think she must have been garaged in Japan her whole life because it's just incredible and I'm very happy about it. Here are the pictures of the car I was given at the dockyard in japan prior to shipping. I was already excited when I saw these and I hadn't even seen the car in person yet. That last one of the completely rust free underside made me especially pleased. When it arrived to the UK Torque GT took care of the registration, the MOT, changed all fluids and filters, changed the front discs and pads, two new rear tyres, full underseal protection, new speedo fascia and a HUD, a cambelt change as well as their 130 point check all within the asking price of the car! Literally all I had to do was go and sign the paperwork and get the keys to drive it home. My drive home was 180+ miles so it was a good chance to get to know the car a bit more and I was grinning from ear to ear the whole time. Took this as I parked it after driving home on the 3rd of December. Got a few things in mind for it but it's lovely to drive as it stands so not in a rush :) I also have a few more pictures but didn't want to overload the one post. Will put them up in a moment.
  11. I've got a lot to live up to then Gaz! Although I might not go for a Strosek kit, I nearly bought a one with a strosek kit a few years ago but the timing just wasn't right. I think a 300ZX is a good basis for a very capable GT car so anything I do will be to try and make it more fun for A/B road blasting and road trips. I'm hoping to make it to the Ace Cafe on the 11th of Feb as I quite like it there :)
  12. Cheers  will have to make a project thread for it or something. I don't intend to modify it too much but we shall see how long that lasts. Last time I said i wasn't going to modify a car a lot it ended up with all the body panels made from carbon fibre... D'oh!
  13. Hello chaps and chapesses. Some of you maye have seen me sniffing around various facebook groups before now but thought I'd join to make it official. On the 3rd of December I picked up a fresh import TTMT Targa LWB from the lovely people at Torque GT down in Devon and after a month and a half with it I'm still absolutely chuffed to bits with it. Literally cannot stop looking at it. Because I'm a bit weird I name all my cars and this one is called Zelda. Looking forward to learning more about these cars and being involved in meets and shows etc.
