my alternator is fairly un-noticeable without any load, but as soon as you put lights or screen heat etc is seems to make a semi loud crackling sound like the hamster inside tripped over and all of the coins fell out of his pocket... its been doin it for some time and i havent had any probs... lately iv been using it less and less and the battery has been gettin low, so, when i last drove it i gave it a run for about 25mins to recharge but a week later its too low to start the car... one thinks that maybe the alternator is only just producing enough juice to keep the car running but not to charge the battery? ...i guess this is a silly question until i do an amps test so il do that 2moro but is this a common fault? uk car done over 120k... cheers chaps joel :cool:

i have a uk tt series 2 auto in need of a new alternator, how limited am i to what alternator i can fit..?... any difference between jdm, n/a, manual, year??? thanks in advance, joel

i have a subaru wagon and the boot isnt ideal for getting a dog in and out but when u find yourself down a country lane, it can do things that the others cant... other than cost an absolute fortune when it breaks down :)

as some of you may know december is my last month of work down here in bournemouth before i get made redundant...again... i have recently been offered a job at stansted and have accepted. we'll be movin out in mid december to our new home nr takeley in essex. so watch out south eastians! kaz and myself have had some top times with you south centralians, so thanks to all involved and especially gaz for the work put in as reo. im sure we will all meet again at some point in the future.
