  1. Absolutely, new wheels would be a rather overkill remedy I think (unless you're hankering for a set then it's a good time to make the Mrs think they're "necessary"!) The best fix would be a set of hubcentric spacers from a known good supplier/manufacturer. As mentioned earlier, it's important to ensure that the bore sizes/dimensions, both internal and external of the spacer, all marry up nicely including a correct size spigot ring. Then with the nuts at the correct torque, you're reducing the possibility of failure down to a metallurgic failure out of your control or an 'incorrect' impact! Oh and use a small amount of thread lock on the nuts that hold the spacer on if you're using bolt on jobbies.
  2. I've never been a fan of spacers, one of the reasons why I hunted for a set of wheels with an off the shelf offset that I was happy with. That said, I don't think this is an everyday occurrence, I think there are many people using spacers for years without issue.
  3. And this is not a straight forward bolt on part.
  4. Indeed, I fitted mine yesterday. A nice subtle update.
  5. It depends whether you're referring to spats or mud flaps. Both were available as an option from the factory. I have the mudflaps (more commonly seen on USDM variants). MJP sells these, as would I suspect, any Nissan dealer if you give them the part number (F3830-30P25 for a SWB and I think F3832-30P25 for a LWB).
  6. Someone didn't read the last paragraph in post #1!
  7. The plate will sit lower than the moustache. But I agree, Simon, clean your car!
  8. Do you have a paint code in mind? Don't forget the wing mirror base will need to be the same colour as the moustache.
  9. Simon, you have definately worded the question of the thread incorrectly. It's not a dilemma of whether to go for the moustache or not (that's a given and the answer is obviously yes - as Andrew kindly helped point out!), but more the question of exactly what colour to paint it. Blacks are not in the poll, nor is the oem grey, it has to be somewhere in between... But where? -PolioJ.
  10. Does anyone happen to have one of these available? It the little white plastic mount that is bonded onto the inside of the door card, which has a pop fastener slotted into it to hold the lower section of door card on. The one I need sits in the lower aft corner and should be the tallest mount of all. CheerZ Joel.
  11. Many of the targa versions do have a rust issue inside the lower sill sections, particularly the rear. I would strongly advise looking inside this area before committing to purchase one. The drain tubes for the targa channels run down into the sill and exit through a small pipe into the ground. Over the years (mainly from being jacked up on the sill) this exit pipe gets damaged or blocked eventually causing water to collect inside the sill area. The rust caused by this becomes evident externally after a while, by that time, the inside will be an absolute mess! It shouldn't deter you from buying one, just bare it in mind when looking (along with all the other handy tips in the buying guide), and when/if you do purchase one, I would always advise a thorough underseal and cavity wax to prolong the life of the car and do regular inspection of both front and rear targa drains. My obviously biased opinion of the 3 cars you're keen on would be in order of 300zx, supra then gto. In my opinion the 300zx has aged well against these 2 an still has a fairly modern edge to it whilst still being retro cool, timeless maybe the appropriate word?
  12. Good to see it back on track John :) Hope you're well.
  13. Isn't Jeff based in Tamworth? He can have a good look round it for me to see what goodies I can salvage from it for you
  14. If you buy it, and it's breaks, I'll have the glass!!!
  15. I have the carbing front and back, they're bizarrely light! Very good quality product, arguably the best product for this purpose.
  16. I'm sure yours will be done fine matey, they used to send theirs out as 'tested satis' like that haha!
  17. I can imagine it's especially true in your workshop!
  18. Looks like a SWZ or Ztech cambelt install!
  19. I agree, as long as all the rot has been cut out inside the network of sill sections back to good metal and not just covered over with a fresh sheet of metal on the exterior section as it will be back in no time, in a far worse condition.
  20. Was any work done on the brakes whilst it was in the garage?
  21. It's not illegal to drive through a red light at temporary traffic lights as long as you can see the other side and it's safe to do so.
  22. Sorry to say this mate, but I would prepare yourself to walk away. It's very likely to be a bodge job. This kind of job requires meticulous detail and as it's being sold, no doubt the seller will not want to pay for that.
  23. Thanks for the advice Mike. I have the upper moulding and fastener pricing from a recent message (Windscreen top moulding £39.40, Fastener for moulding £26.30), what is the current price of the L+R fasteners?
