  1. :nono: Don't get me started... they had my car a year, cracked my windscreen, damaged paint and to cut a long story short have gone bust :xxx:
  2. TurboXS do uprated recircs too.
  3. Yen under seat as usual. Ment to be a good luck charm init? Strange cos my Z has been cursed from the moment I bought it!
  4. Thanks Lymon :D :nana2: I searched for ages the other night and couldn't find that!
  5. I was driving a 2.0 Renault years ago up a hill on a dual carriageway and as I went over the hill and started to come down the other side which was very steep I took my foot off the gas and found the pedal stuck to the floor. Throttle cable had jammed and i couldn't pull it back up and was doing about 80 ish. Turned it off and back on to ACC so the steering didn't lock and put it in neutral and slowed down with the brakes - yes it's harder to drive with no PAS or brake servo but cars are still driveable when these fail or they wouldn't be allowed, especially on a straight road! If he couldn't put the auto in neutral (which I find hard to beleive when he's also got a jammed throttle) then turning it off is the obvious thought - either that or accelerate to warp speed and call your mates, AA, police etc for a final chat  :xxx: Must admit the steering on a Z is a "little" heavy without PAS though
  6. OK I had a proper look at the connector today and there's 5 pins in use: A: Orange - Pin 37 on ECU B: White - Pin 27 on ECU C: Black - Ground D: Black - Ground - Pin 26 on ECU? E: White - 12v from ECCS relay Still can't quite see which I need to run to the ECU and/or the S-AFC as the online Nissan wiring diagram is very fuzzy and doesn't describe the functions very clearly. Anyone got a pic of the ECU connector with all the main function pins labelled? Thought I'd repaired my dummy AFM but took it for a drive today using it and it runs crap so guess I still need a new one.
  7. If the accelerator jammed wide open you'd still be able to put it in neutral and turn the engine off wouldn't you? On a motorway you wouldn't need the power steering and better you slide along a crash barrier than go over a roundabout LOL For the throttle AND gears to jam I'd have thought you'd have to have 2 separate faults... Will be interesting to see what the report on the car says LOL Would you really think of calling the AA and police at a time like that? Seem to remember a guy reporting a "runaway" truck and it being on one of those traffic police programs. Turned out he was pulling a stunt to get on the news... I'd have just stamped on the brakes, slowed it, used the handbrake if necessary and turned the engine off!
  8. Looking good mate. I have a lot of problems with my air filters mounted in a similar position to yours. It's fine when driving but when stood in the rain water pours in all around the headlight panel and soaks the filters. Might not be so bad with those but on the Apexi's they don't allow any air in when wet and the car won't even start. Trying to reposition mine at the moment but with the Doolz setup I've got I can't see any way of doing it. You'll probably have to make some kind of splash guard above to stop them getting drenched. Strange thing is it's not a problem even when driving in heavy rain.
  9. A motorist drove for 60 miles at speeds of 135mph after the accelerator on his BMW car jammed and his brakes failed. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/4796264.stm Surely you could slow it down with the brakes or handbrake or turn the engine off before you got doing 135mph in a 1.8 automatic?!?! Does an R reg 318 auto even do 135mph?
  10. Don't Z Centre do the lights too? Also Russ as mentioned and they're nothing like that price. Those Jacquemond ones are complete units I presume but you can get the bits to make the same effect for a few hundred quid.
  11. Can't find anything of much use on twinturbo.net - they're not very helpful as most posts asking for info just seem to get flamed with useful "read the manual, a55hole!" type answers LOL Well I got the S-AFC manual and the AFM wiring from the service manual and it looks like there's just a single wire needs running from the new AFM to the second input on the AFC? the others just connect to the original AFM harness for power etc? In the S-AFC manual it shows settings for 2 twin AFM setups. One for a Skyline and the other for 300ZX with twins. On the Skyline it says to set the output to "Averaged" but on the Z it says to set to "Add" the inputs?? I've been messing with the "dummy" faulty AFM that Z1 Motorsports sent with the Doolz setup and think I might have repaired it to save some cash :) Will test it today. Just need the harness connector now - did you have any luck J.D? Cheers, Chris.
  12. Not dumb, You're correct that dump valves aren't as good as recircs performance wise but.... I want to scare old ladies :D
  13. Yes but make sure you order the Z fitting kit and a pair of BOV's The full kit from Z1 Motorsports is a bargain ;)
  14. Thanks matey, My current chip is set to halve the air value so I presume I need to reset this value to standard for the SAFC to do it's thing?
  15. Depends what they mean by seized? Running on the wrong fuel doesn't cause that kind of problem. If it needs a rebuild you're looking at thousands.
  16. Anyone done this? I've been using a Doolz setup with 1 MAF and a dummy for ages but wanting to get my SAFC put to proper use and wire in a second MAF. My manual for the SAFC is in Japanese and I don't know the pins on the MAF either...
  17. Have you checked BT's site to see if they have a fault or are maintaining the system?
  18. Yeah but its not oil and water it's 2 petroleum products that I would have thought would mix? Me being an expert chemist and all that...

  20. If he's filled it with petrol that means it's about 5 parts petrol to 1 of diesel? Wouldn't have thought that was a problem as diesel is only going to lubricate things a bit more than normal and make it sluggish for a while.
  21. When Si posted this the other day everyone was saying yes it's fine just fill it with petrol and when it's all gone get a new fuel filter and use some injector cleaner. New thread and everyone is panicking... Just shows what great advice you get on here sometimes
  22. Backboxes are at the...errrr...back lol The cats are the smaller sections under the cover near the gearbox and have temperature sensors in them. Can't see it will do much harm other than messing up the fuel filter with the amount you put in.
  23. You must have cats if the overheat warning light is coming on. Probably got unburnt fuel in the cats and it's making them overheat? Whatever it is, the only way you'll get it back to normal is flushing it out with normal running.
