I just used clear bath silicone and it worked a treat, i get it free from work I'm a plumber LOL. Every body also said that the strip was ultra fragile too but i had no problems and wasn't that careful.

Same happened to me a few years ago strapping pipes to my van.Pulled them tight then "Bang" hit me straight in the eye. Sank straight to me knees otherwise i would of hit the deck. I've played rugby league all my life, boxed for two years and worked on pub doors and never been knocked off my feet but that fecking hurt :wacko: Felt sick all day which usually means concussion.I now pull them so if they slip it springs away from my face.

That's spot on jeff. Do not use this fire again and get it checked by a gas safe registered engineer. Fires can and do kill :no::angel:
