:D on the subject of supra's!! my friend at work is looking to buy a na supra cos the tt is to high insurance, told him to buy a zed but he wouldnt have it LOL!! anyway is there anything that goes wrong on them to look out for?? sorry to use the zed site for supra questions but since the supra owners were here i thought i would get my 2pence worth at least my modded tt zed will leave him dead LOL!!

apexi sound nice do u know if there are any universal types to fit the twin pop??

hi there gents, i bought the se-nissan twin filter induction kit for my z last year, but i was told that the actual filters are off a toyota hilux?????? not sure how much truth in that but as they dont look very good i am thinking of getting a pair of universal k&n airfilters to replaice them!! have a look here http://www.knfilters.com/universal/univrndstrt.htm u need something about the same size of the old one:- outside dia 127mm ( D ) inside neck dia 70mm ( F ) length 170mm ( FL ) has anyone here done anything like that or have you got any suggestions cheers guys

hi there bud how r ya, just saw your post and im busy fitting a z centre front and rear bumper with side skirts to my z, lucky my dad is a panel beater and is helping me with the kit he is going to respray the whole car for me now then with the rear bumper i had to cut the aluminium impact absorber behind the bumper with a jig saw where the number plate goes inward, then i fitted the rear bumper its not to bad once you have taken the old one off you will see how it all goes together, what i did find is that the bumper isnt a great fit so had to use some filler to blend it in with the car panels. you will also notice that the bumper cracks when you tighten it up, so with the rear i fitted it all tight, primed it and blended it with filler and will spray it on the car cos if you spray it first it might crack when you fit it!! and dont forget to cut off your towing eyes!! with the front i fitted the bumper and filled it with filler to blend in with the body of the car, and what we noticed is you cant get a spray gun underneath to spray the bumper, so i had to take it off to spray, but have to be very caerfull when re-fitting it so not to crack it!! i also managed to use all the bumper brackets when fitting the front bumper bit of a nightmare getting to them to say the least!! i have removed the rear spoiler and have ordered the skin to go over the tailgate, i havent fitted the skirts yet or the rear spoiler but hopefully next week!! ok then in my opinion try to spray them on the car cos they tend to crack when you tighten up, so fit them on and tighten them up, then get em sprayed p.s they only crack if they r fiberglass, if they r plastic you will have no probs at all amnd can spray them anyhow u want have some pics on camera of the ongoing work can e-mail them to you when i get them developed if you like!! hope this is of some help to ya! dewi ap.

cheers guys sorted!! will wire a switch in somwhere something similar to danny!! might even try wiring up foglamps to the main beam with an overide switch I.E. switch in off position, fogs come on and off with the main beam as though they were driving lamps swich on they would be on constant as fog lamps, bit of head scratching but sure i will find a way, or set fire to the zed !!! :eek:

hey fellas i have just fitted a new bumper to the zed with front foglamps, i bought a fog lamp wiring kit from halfords and has this ugly switch in the kit, no way am i putting this in my motta!! im not sure but on the jap spec zed is there a seperate foglamp switch for front and rear, im sure i have seen one somewhere!! it was the same switch with two different pictures on it for front and rear!! hope someone can help me cheers guys

oops i didnt explain myself very well then did i!! what i meant to say was, open all the spark plugs, pour just a dash of oil into the bore on top of the piston then turn the engine by hand ( i figure your engine is on a stand is it ), just to help keeping the bours clean, then replace your sparkplugs, do this once every couple of months then your engine should b fine, dont forget now just a little dash of oil not too much!! i hope this is of some help to ya!

dont worry bud the engine in my zed didnt turn 4 about 2 years no bull, latz pourd some oil down the bores every now and again and turned it by hand just to keep it lubricated, i woul suggest kepping the sparkplugs in to stop air gettin in and causing rust!!

yep that old chestnut!!, my sills and rear arches r rotting away on the z does anybody know of a sill repair kit to weld on something!! cheers guys

macca its awsome baby driving the zed home from manchester to sunny north wales!! there were qeues ( is that spelt right ) on the m6 for ages and i was in my zed with the sounds pumping the car looked awsome and people were looking at the zed or was it my good looks LOL:D :D i just felt so happy to to be in the zed a car to really stand out from the crowd if you know what i mean, macca will get in touch with ya soon for a few bits cheers dewi ap

hi john300zx that number would be handy, anybody know of an insurance if you wanted to use your zed only at the weekends??

he was finishing off an engine swap the new engine was dropped in place but that was all, he reffited the auto gearbox radiator, all electics and hoses, some new parts, oil change and filter, new autobox fluid, and new drive belts, all in 800 quid a very fair price for the exellent work he did :cool:

a massive thanks to phill from C & S WOOD ENGINEERING ( 01942 892568 ) astley manchester. took my poor old zed to him to re-build my engine dropped it off at his garage on sunday and i get a call thursday night to say its ready, i just couldent belive it, went up fri to pick it up and it was parked outside looking a million dollars, not only had he done an exellent job on the engine, he had also valeted the car for me as well. his service was trully first class, he checked the car over b4 i left and i also got a courtesy call when i got home to see if everything was ok !! very fast and efficient service highly recomended will b going there again for t.l.c :D :D

ok bud thats a good point, then i would be in deep poo poo if that happend, get the zed back on sun will keep u posted on the re-build!!

thanxs bud yeah deffinetaly looks a lot heavier but with brut force she will go in kicking and screaming!!

hi guys has anyone here managed to re-fit an auto gearbox back in there zed, im getting my zed back soon so will have to fit the autobox myself!! is it a big job without ramps was thinking of axle stands and jacking the gearbox into place or is this a daft idea!! answers on a postcard please, much appreceated guys

hia bud, i fitted a new kenwood head unit and graphic equaliser and new amplifiers in the boot so i have some idea what you r on about, what i did is go to halfords to get an adaptor from your zx straight into the back of your panasonic!! ( i found this in my zed file for ya pc-587 halfords code 957324 it was about 12 quid something else you might not have noticed but the ariel connection in your z has 2 prongs!!! not a problem go to halfords ang order ( unless its in stock ) an adaptor from the z to the standard ariel connection!! and no i dont work in halfords LOL!!!

hey le-big mac where r you getting your done bud?? rough idea of the cost?? mine looks more like clean aluminium than chrome im taking it to latz at gps to fit to my zed as soon as i can, now i know it wont stink of paint LOL!! mac can you let me know where i can get it done cos i will have a spare plenum to chrome when i get the zed back, i will try to take a pic of the plenum and post it on here for ya when i work out how to do it!! saw jonnys from gps merc few weeks ago looks awsome mac your car must be quick to leave that!!

hi guys sorry i havnt been here for a while hope you r all well, my zeds been off the road for a while so i had a chance to play with the plenum chamber question is this! i have sand blasted the outside of the plenum and have spayed it with a chrome effect spray paint, now this paint is ok up to 150 degrees, am i safe with this paint or is the car going to smell funny for a while p.s looks damn good though. bye the way if the paint faills does anyone know of a firm thad can polish and chrome it for me?? cheers.

hands up who spotted smithy's ad in max powr bout the stainless slam panel for the zx looks quite good 2 nice one smithy!!

were both in the soup bud my piston went bout 2 months ago and its still in the garage!! have you thought bout a re-con or a second hand engine bud??? i had a quote for pistons 1200 squids!! add all the laubor and rebore for me it worked out cheper to get another engine!! good news is im having my old engine to play with at home so i can assess the damage if the bore's r knackerd i will probably get another block but have the crank ground and enlargen the oilways with new shells etc!! good luck to ya!
