But their parts are still supplied from the US are they not? the postage is still pretty big.

He works in nissan parts department yes but he doesn't work with supplying our sort of parts. (but he can get you parts numbers etc.) You can use Z1motorsports.com, Zcentre.co.uk and conceptzperformance.com but they are all US based so postage can get costly. For small items try PMing MJP (Mike) and see if he can sort you out.

Well technically the mid 4 was the 80s so you could probably put the looks down to that somewhat.

Did a quick google, i could not find anywhere that said the MID4 design was sold to honda, i think its just an assumption made from the fact it has similar looks to the nsx.

That shop said they had to strip the bumper first, but shouldn't they just sand it down a bit, and then primer and spray in blue? not completely strip all the paint.

There is a top pivot bolt which would till need to loosen to allot the alternator tro be tensioned, then on the bottom there is a threaded bolt sideways which is the tensioning bolt, and there is also a bolt behind that (with the head facing the engine) which you will have to loosen to be able to loosen the tensioning bolt. when both the top bolt and the bottom bolt are loose, you can start loosening the sideways tensioning bolt until the belt is tight, and then tighten everything else. Sorry if it is a bit rambly, here is a video explaining it:
