Stalls on start up after service
Hi Joel Thank you for the reply, I have had a good look round the Hoses and all seem to be in good nick although the PRVR solenoid is missing and there is a hose connecting the two hard lines that go to the valve on the other car, I have no idea if its been set up to the FSM as I have not long had the car, what I can tell you is that the last time the car had the Oil changed was Aug 2013 at Z World as they had written it on the Filter, previous owners since then really should have had their act together, thats taking long life oil to extreems. First thing I do when I get a new car is to do the Oil, Oil Filter, Air Filter and Fuel Filter before looking at anything else but there is loads of stuff not working which I will get to as time permits. Do you know if there is anyone with ConZult who is anywhere near me or you come to that, I have run the check from the OBD and it came up 55 so presumably the ECU thinks everything is ok which it isn't, I will try disconnecting the MAF what should the car do when I disconnect it ? Incidentally thank you again for the Number Plate Bracket which is installed, that was incredibly Kind

Stalls on start up after service
Hi All Car was running OK apart from a intermittent starter motor problem (Would not crank just clicked and all the lights went out) Starter now sorted so I thought I would give it a service, so have just changed the Oil, Oil Filter, Air Filter, Fuel Filter. While changing the air filter found that the Y shaped rubber hose that goes from the MAF to the two round Steel Intakes was cracked right through 3/4's of the way round where the Jubilee clip fastens it to the LH Steel Intake which was presumably letting Air in after the MAF. As a temporary measure I borrowed the rubber Y hose from the other car and continued with the service, when all complete attempted to start it up so I could run it for a few minutes to check for oil leaks and Level and it fired but immediately died, cranked again and the same result Switched off Ignition, turned on again waited for the fuel pump to stop running and cranked it started so I quickly feathered the throttle and she picked up but lumpy, I had to keep reving it to prevent it from stalling and then it started ticking over smoothly but at 12-1300 rpm and sits at that high tick over even after running for 3-4 minutes Am I just unlucky and the split hose was just coincidence or has it got a bearing on the strange new running. Just to clarify having left it overnight, this morning it has retained its post service starting routine HELP !

Airbag OE Steering Wheels wiring help
Thanks for the reply, I know a lot of people don't approve of removing the OE steering wheel but I am leaving everything in tact and not modifying the wiring as such so the OE wheels can be reinstated should a subsequent owner wish to do so (that's if I ever sell them which is unlikely) Where would I be able to get a "airbag tester simulator type resistor diagnostic thingy" especially if it's only a few pounds

Airbag OE Steering Wheels wiring help
Continued :- 2nd Plug Photo 3 My Question is does anyone know which wires to link to prevent the Airbag Light coming on and if it requires a resistor fitted in line as this is so different to the wiring on the 1994 Car also which wire goes to the Horn Button so it will be Earthed when the Horn Button is depressed Be Grateful if anyone has done the Aftermarket Wheel conversion on the Vert type wheel and can help me out, Hopefully the info for the 1994 Car will save someone a bit of investigation time All the Best Marc

Airbag OE Steering Wheels wiring help
Hi Guys I am trying to fit aftermarket steering wheels to 2 Z's one I have completed and the other I am struggling with. Both are are fitted with OE Airbag Steering wheels but the wiring and the Airbag are totally different I have used the search on here but can not find any details so apologies if all this has been covered before. The following Photo's are from the 1994 car with no hicas and drivers only Airbag After much testing & faffing about these are the connections that need to be made for the Airbag Light to extinguish (Red wire Loop) and the connection for the Horn button (Green Wire) The Following Photo's are from the 1992 Convertible with no hicas and drivers only Airbag Back of Airbag I will have to post the rest of the photo's for the 1992 Car in the next post as I am on my limit for this post, if interested please scroll down

Brake Problem
Hi Andrew No this is a Blue SWB Slicktop, my obsession with these cars is becoming out of control I wish to get them all up to scratch and should really not have bought them (my Wife informs me) but having got the Yellow SWB T Top in the first place as I could not find a Slicktop I could afford, I subsequently found this Blue Slicktop, and then at the beginning of the month the Blue Convertible reared it head and I just had to buy it. I know I could have bought a very tidy car for the cost of the three cars, but it just sort of happened all are manual NA but I am amazed how different each of the cars are with regard to light operation and wiring and also how they have all been wired using the twist & tape method, which I am gradually working through to get everything working. I have checked underneath and can not see any leaks, I have removed all the calipers & discs and the pistons in all calipers move smoothly, cleaned all the calipers and refitted & applied copper slip the pads, replacement pins in the calipers also, unfortunately there has not been any normal use as the poor electrics have prevented road use but the brake fluid reservoir was above the Min mark and moves towards Max mark when the pistons are pushed back into the calipers, I will try and get help to check for bulging brake flexible hoses also will get in the drivers footwell and check the master cylinder. Will let you know progress Many Thanks Marc

Brake Problem
Looks like its a NON ABS as there are three brake pipes coming from the master cylinder, I am trying to upload photo's of the pipe to the o/s/f wheel arch This looks wrong to me surely the pipe should hug the chassis rail rather than nearly touching the exhaust manifold or are they all like this ? Thanks again
-
Brake Problem
Hi Andrew Thanks for the swift reply, yes its NA, have bled the brakes but please excuse my ignorance how do i tell if its got ABS or not, my reason for thinking that there is a problem of some sort is that the one brake pipe that goes to the o/s front arch is a strange shape and looks as if it has been made by a 10 year old. Regards Marc

Brake Problem
Hi All Having a problem with the brakes on Z32 300zx SWB, there is a awful lot of pedal travel, I have checked the free play adjustment on the pedal and while checking brake pipes and calipers for leaks I have noticed that on this car the brake pipes from the master cylinder on the o/s front there is only one brake pipe going through the o/s wheel arch whereas on inspecting another 300zx Z32, there are two brake pipes going through to the wheel arch and they go to a small block bolted to the inner wheel arch, which is missing on my SWB can anyone tell me what this block is and what it does My car appears to have the facility to fit this block as there are two mounting holes in the inner wing under the wheel arch Would appreciate any help Thanks in advance

300ZX Convertible Hood
Thanks guys, I had seen the Ebay add but they want £ 320 on top of the £444 to fit the hood and to be honest I am not confident that I could fit the hood myself and risking ruining a £444 item, I have tried the few local vehicle trimmers and none are interested in replacing the windows or indeed fitting a new hood. So now looking further afield and just wondered if anyone had had any work done that they would recommend Thanks for the replies Regards Marc

300ZX Convertible Hood
Hi is there a supplier that anyone knows of that does a good deal on either replacing the Plastic windows in a convertible hood or alternatively a complete replacement hood. If anyone knows a reliable supplier that discounts to club members that would be even better Thanks for any info Best Regards Marc

Rubber Manual Gear lever Boot Inner and Outer
Hi looking for the two rubber boots that fit over the Manual gear lever, one bolts through the gear selector and the second goes over the top and sort of clips over on 4 tags, just replaced the gear shift bushings and found both torn to shreds, must admit I thought the exhaust was loud in the cabin I figure the condition of the rubbers may be the culprit. If anyone has either rubber boot undamaged please let me know Many Thanks

Braided cables from CATS go through floor Have Been Cut through is this a Problem ?
Thanks Jeff, that would make sense as the previous owner had had a clutch fitted so I presume the garage cut them to remove the exhaust during the clutch replacement procedure, you would have hoped the garage concerned would have done something rather than just left them hanging under the car. I will just tidy up and insulate the cut ends, presumably I can just trim the cable ends on the cats back to as short as possible. Thanks for all advice also if anyone knows what the correct name for the plastics that are under the engine at the front of the car there appear to be three sections one over the centre section and one over each corner Thanks again to all

Braided cables from CATS go through floor Have Been Cut through is this a Problem ?
Hi Nick thanks for the reply, so can I just trim the cables so they don't hang down under the car or would there be any advantage to reconnecting them Best Regards Marc

Braided cables from CATS go through floor Have Been Cut through is this a Problem ?
Hi Everyone these are probably stupid questions but I have found that there are two braid covered cables that go from the Catalytic converters through the transmission tunnel floor underneath the car have been chopped off with presumably wire cutters, and are just hanging underneath the car, Q1 : what purpose should they serve ? Q2 : Is it a problem that they have been cut Q3 :Is it possible to repair them ie: join them back together and if so how Real novice question I know but would appreciate some help I have also noticed that the bits of plastic either side at the front that attach to the front bumper are badly smashed what would they be called please so I can place a add in the Wanted section Thanks in advance Best Regards Marc
