ABS light on!!
if you disconnect it & put a voltmeter across the terminals to the sensor set to AC volts, you should get a voltage of around 1v induced when you spin the wheel. compare it to the other side to see what readings you get. you can also set it to ohms to check the resistance, try flexing the wire down to the sensor to see if you get any high/open circuit readings. HTH ps - did you do a diagnostic as described in the manual??

absolute bollox im afraid!! backpressure is your enemy, its stopping exhaust gasses from flowing freely out of the combustion chamber. scoops has basically hit the nail on the head. shockwave tuning is what counts, as the gasses exit the combustion chamber, the inertia of the gasses help pull the gasses of the next cylinder on the exhaust stroke. THIS PRINCIPLE REQUIRES LOW BACK PRESSURE!!! I have yet heard anyone who says back pressure is good or required to explain WHY!! incorrect FLOW through the exhaust may cause loss of power. but this is nothing to do with back pressure. even on an NA engine, an decent free flowing exhaust will give a power increase. I remember many years ago when the back pressure debate was going on, a very well respected engine tuner called David Vizard sayed "anyone who says back pressure is good is either lying to sell their product or doesnt know what they are talking about"

Repair auto box myself?
Take a look here to see if you fancy it ;) its quite a big job, & to be honest, if your asking how to replace steering rack gaiters i wouldnt bother!! ;) :D but then, if you just want to strip it to see if you can do it & have a manual box - go for it!! its the only way to learn!!
-
Replacing steering gaitor/boots
just remove the track rod ends & lock nuts, undo/remove the clips & slide them off if you count the turns when you remove the TRE's then you can put them back in the same place without affecting the tracking too much. its still advisable to recheck the tracking tho. :)

UD pully on your Z?
what a stupid argument  if he didnt have a 12bhp advantage then he would be even more disadvantaged in the above scenarios!! as mentioned previously, its all the smaller mods that add up. if your not into tuning then leave it stock. if you are then any bhp increase is worthwhile
