sounds like its carboned up. lack of oil changes, breathers blocked, excessive crankcase blowby all can cause this. if its really bad then youre looking at an engine rebuild :( as the oilways can get blocked/restricted. if its not too bad, then as jock says, a couple of flushes may sort it

official figures are 280bhp. next stage is a chip & boost upgrade. cheapest way would be to get a home made chip from here & boost jets. the difference in power is superb! ;) if your feeling flush & have too much money then invest in a custom mapped chip & boost controller. you will also need an aftermarket boost gauge fitted & an uprated clutch (may as well fit a lightweight flywheel at the same time ;) :D) how much have you got again????? :D

thats actually the worst way you could do it!! the wire brush will bamage the insulation & can cause the spark to track down & misfire.

if there badly fouled then i would recommend binning them & buying a new set im afraid. you could try cleaning them with carb cleaner if the deposits are light, but make sure you dont damage the porcelin on the centre electrode!!

must have bashed a few bishops to get that new job :D
