right. lets keep things simple! the larger volume of air between the turbo & the engine, the more lag you will have. (lag being defined as the amount of time to generate positive boost) FMIC's generally have a larger volume of air than SMIC's FMIC's are generally not needed until 600+bhp (many dyno charts in the US to prove this) ok?

Possibly stupid question re power upgrades
on turbo engines, cam profiles & valve lift is less of an issue until you want bigger turbos as the air is forced into the cylinder anyway. you can get a far bigger increase in power than you would with just cams on a NA car by increasing boost pressure. induction & exhaust are there to allow the air to flow more freely & the ecu upgrade is to allow for fueling at higher boost & also gives more aggressive ignition timing maps also. if your going bigger turbos then longer duration/higher lift cams are still required!

speedo & rev counters (or any other gauges for that matter!) are not part of the test. the only things you would still need would be the tell tale lights for the main beam, fog lamp & indicators. you would also need a functioning abs warning lamp. HTH :)

have you checked for code 34 (det sensor) on a ecu check, maybe starting to mess about. have you changed your fuel recently, do you use Optimax??

any car fitted with a LSD *HAS* to be tested with a tapley meter instead of in the rollers. unless you've got a nice posh plate brake tester like iv got ;) there are loads of places that just chuck them in the rollers however :rolleyes:
