Is my fuel pump Knackered...?
Parked up tonight, and after a while went to start car, failed to start and noticed a strong smell of fuel, no obvious signs of fuel leak in engine bay... The car after then getting started began to idle irratically, and stalled, this was then followed by a loud wirring noise from back of the car and heavy fuel rich smelling smoke from the exhaust? Any idea's guys? Thank-you.............

NZR Beagle Puppies
Lovely dogs...Be prepared for a long wait and a hard search though for the right breeders, expect to pay between £600-800 for a pedigree pup, and try either: http://www.epupz.co.uk or http://www.puppies.co.uk to find a breeder ;)

Own up, who's set to race a GT4?
Have a mate with Uk Spec GT4 (st205)...Ran a good 1/4 mile time of: 12.651 @ 106.38 They are a very quick car, and capable of great times for very little money being spent on them. :)

Will you still have your Z in 5 years?
I'd like to think I will still have myne in 5yrs time...I'd wanted one for 6 1/2 years...am just as mad on them now as I was then, now I have one I can't help thinking why did I wait so long? :)

Bubbling Sound
£15 each for the heater matrix pipes, and replaced the others with 8mm hoses bought from local car parts shop as they were just straight pipes, hope all goes well, and if you doing it yourself be prepared to lose a little skin from your knuckles...All the best mate. :D

LOOK, Every Z owner should have one.
Seriously good pics... Very talented!
-
Bubbling Sound
Had similar prob/sound two weeks ago, then after a futher week developed a hissing sound from same area, followed by a coolant leak, and indeed 1 pipes had perished, so replaced them all while back there, ordered from Nissan, and problem sorted... Hope this is the case for you too! :)

Bought one!
Well done...Have owned myne for 3 weeks now and I'm loving it! Paid a similar price to you too, seems there are are a few bargains to be had, I was sure that at the price I got the Z for that it'd need some attention on it, but after a phone call found out it'd just had the 60k service...Had to change a leaking coolant hose but that was it... So for under £3k got myself a 1990 BLACK JAP SPEC TT AUTO with 67,000 MILES, no rust and the interior is sweet too, the front bumper is a little scratched but I'll replace that with the money I saved when I upgrade the SM's... Anyway have fun in the car when you get it...ENJOY :)

Front Mount OR Twin...?
Lol...This still leaves one question...Either way I go, FM or SM's I still have to choose a brand...
-
well it had to happen sometime...
MMMNN...Just replaced all of my coolant hoses at the back as there was a leak....was only one pipe, slightly split but replaced five...easy off...well not so if you got big arms, but nightmare to put the new ones on...Lol Lost alot of skin from knuckles and lost my other half's (Snap-on) screwdriver...he asked me to reach it coz I got skinny arms, but I pushed it on the gearbox...oops! Did fall out...somewhere. Still they're done now...No more leak and no more hissing noise...Job done

Lambo doors on a 300ZX?
Ain't that the truth...!!!

Front Mount OR Twin...?
Please remember I am a girl, not an expert with the ZX...LOL But in response to all your replies (and thanks for all of them) the reason I had to ask for your opinion as fellow owners, was that prior to buying this car I was informed by numerous people that one of the biggest threats to the TT ZX was that they suffer from overheating in certain area's so this was why I really wanted to adress this area of the car first before going the route of upping the BHP and paying for it by smokin' the turbo's or melting the pistons...Just wanna be safe. But another reason I asked about front or side mounts is because of airflow to the coolers in regards to the front stock bumper....which I plan on replacing with a veilside which if i went for fmic would obviously be better... However first things first reading up, think it may also be a good idea first to go for an aftermarket rad...Am liking what I hear about the KOYO... But once again...Its really good to get varied opinions...am learning alot from the site...CHEERS ALL!

today i
Job well done...

Front Mount OR Twin...?
Thanks for the help, learning lots about the Z...(am a girlie BTW) The other half drives it and does the manual stuff, but damn...I love this car so much I cant wait to get spending. We really don't wanna get massive BHP gains at this stage, as we have a stock engine (no upgraded internals) and at the moment it's also on the stock auto-box, so I dont wanna put too much pressure on these, then WHEN the auto gives up we''ll upgrade that and take the car from there.
-
Front Mount OR Twin...?
Thats a good point, do have an auto-box cooler there too, with regards to the Stillen twin set-up, is it possible to get these in the UK or will I have to organise shipping& costs and buy them direct from the states only?
-
Front Mount OR Twin...?
Just wondering what everyones opinions are? Now going down the route of getting better cooling upgrades, upgrading hoses and pipes etc, but am unsure as to what to go for...Front mounted intercooler(any brands reccommended?) or twin (again brands reccommended)? Thanks guys... :)
