Calm down man, yes zed break, yes they cost a lot to fix, yes theyre a sh1tload of hassle, but theyre well worth it. If you give up, sell it for less than its worth cos it not very well at the moment you will kick yourself later. I cant understand it, the posts i saw on it looked quite possitive, just seems a little OTT. I remember a lot of grief given out to other traders on here without that sort of moderation. Halfords ones are a poor fit, the Wix (QH) ones are a good fit and the standard is at least equal to nissan ones. The part no is WA6609 and they will retail at around £7 or £8 each, these should be available at most motor factors.

Does it have the dizzy cap and rotor arm attached to the side of the engine? Like alot of Vauxhalls have. I had a 2.0 Astra GTE a while back that used to run fine when cold but not so well warm, also if you took it a short run then switched off it was a bugger to get started. Anyway, turned out the cause of this was a little rubber seal that goes betwwen the back of the rotor arm and the rocker cover gasket, thus oil was getting in the dizzy, fine when it was cold but once the thing got warmed up the oil either turned into some sort of vapour, or got spread around by the rotor arm causing the contact to get weakend. If your dizzy is mounted to the rocker its worth checking. Might help, might not. All the best.

Mine had a new one last year too, but the wires still got cooked by the exhaust in 6 months. Keep your chin up Tony. And Shrimpo, get under that car and get it sorted!!!;)
