Should I get a 2X2? or a 2seater?
2 seater is going to be more difficult to source, more expensive to buy, more expensive for some of the parts ie exhaust cos they are more rare. Likewise all 2 seaters are imports so the insurance will cost you more for a 2 seater than say a UK 2+2. But I say if youve got the money get a 2 seater cos they are nice, i not sure about the high speed stability bit, but i know when JD took me for a spin in his old (now smashed to bits) 2 seater, when I got back in my 2+2 it felt very barge like compared with the 2 seater. Having said all this your best bet is to buy the car on its condition, irrespective of variations like chasis, colour, auto-manual etc! Good Luck and happy hunting!

300ZX.CO.UK Club Poll
Quite right mate, I never voted to start with and still havent yet, if all in the letter and announcement comes good then fair play ill vote yes, but I feel we were sold the same kind of thing when subscriptions/membership started but 12 months on we're no closer as yet to being a real club. Dont get me wrong the above may sound dead negative but id still pay the £20 regardless cos this site is a great place on the whole its a goldmine of information, it saves you money and you make great friends too.

Ever been done by another ?
I must be getting my bottle back!!! Had a motorbike revving up behind me, I tried to let him past but he made it obvious that wasnt his intention. So at the next roundabout the car in front peeled off and i was left with a clear road, so i hammered it as fast as i could when we got to the next set of lights he was a good 50 yards behind me. Wwhen he pulled up alongside me at the lights he said "Is that a V6 twin turbo?" and i replied "yep" and he said that he's got to admit that ive got him on the bends. Imagine my delight to see the letters CBR900RR on the side of the bike!!!:D Then the lights changed and he wheelied off away from me like i wasnt moving!!! But hey you cant win em all!!!

stoped for speeding tonight 119mph
Oh dear, bans normally come in blocks of six months bot id guess you could be looking at a year or 18 months. Best get yourself a good solicitor and give em all the need my licence for my job etc, that way you might get a bigger fine but a shorter ban like 28 days and a grand or so fine. Best of Luck.

First post, and he already needs help !!!
Larger intercoolers are always better, but i didnt mention anything about intercoolers in my post:confused: The auto box oil cooler on the jap cars cools the oil by putting the oil through a section of the radiator, which doesnt really do alot in terms of cooling the autobox oil. An aftermarket one takes the oil into a seperate rad where it gets much better cooling. Im probably a bit biased becouse first zed i had was a freshly imported one had no cooler, within 6 weeks the box blew. Second one i bought had been fine for alll the time ive owned it (over a year now)It had beeen in uk for 3 years but had an oil cooler fitted, this was done by the first uk owner becouse sure enough after a couple of months in the uk the autobox fried same as my old one, the recipts in my history for the new box in Jan 2000 totaled £1400. Ive typed this out from a document in my service history from a company called Automatic Transmission Service Group Technical ServiceInformation RE4R01A REPEATED PLANETARY FALIURE COMPLAINT; RE4R01A transmissions found in Nissan Pathfinders, 200sx and 300zx vehicles may experience repeated planitary faliure. CAUSE; Most Nissan vehicles which have what is known as a fin type cooler. This type of cooler becomes easily restricted causing poor cooler flow resulting in repeated planitary faliure. Cooler line flushing machines cannot flush clear this type of cooler. CORRECTION; in times past the radiator would need to be replaced to update the cooling system. Nissan has now made available a spiral cooler replacement kit so the entire radiator does not need to be replaced. The part number for this kit is 21606-15V25. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I dont think by the picture that I have that particular cooler stated above on mine, but i do have one of some description!! Cant recomend them enough!!

First post, and he already needs help !!!
you do know that if you get a black one it will be slow dont you??? The red ones are the fastest!!!;) Best of luck And if your getting an auto import, make sure it has an AFTERMARKET OIL COOLER on it, if it hasnt use it as a bargaining tool to get money off then if you but it buy a cooler ASAP.

Ever been done by another ?
Indeed it was, some fool polo cl coupe with a corrado G60 engine squeezed in it, Ive also been killed by a scooby (more down to my lack of bottle i think), And yesterday i was beaten by a lotus esprit, it clearly had me on the straight, the only place i kept pace was up a big hill which makes me think it wasnt the V8TT:( ....and to think i used to beat XR3i's in a 1.3 astra, when i was 17, ive either lost my nerve, grown up or turned into a pussy driver!!! Or maybe its cos i smashed all my other cars to bits and im too scared of doing it to the zed!! On the plus side ive beaten Gto's and Skylines so its not all bad!!!!

Squeaky!
Just to add to the squeaks collection, my zed squeaks from the wheel arch, whenever the cars done more than about 5 miles, i thought it was the brakes and made poor old jeff take all the breakes off only to find the squeak still there, turns out its a dry wheel bearing. I reckon its a billing related injury too, every year i get home to find some of that plot dividing tape niceley entangled in one of my wheels, when that bearing comes out i'll bet its covered in melted plastic!!! Its going in to be done after his hols.

5 second fast idle ?
Tried cleaning the trottle bodies, if a bit of crap gets in em they can stick a tiny bit open making the revs rise a bit i think, mine has done this before, if i put it in park or neutral at a junction the revs used to go up to about 1300 then drop back down after a second, disconnect the battery while you do it, to reset the ecu too. Goood luck. If its not that it could be a dicky TPS but id do the TB's first as it will cost you nowt.
