If you set aside at least a grand for the turbo, think its best to do the 2, then a grand for the respray, add that onto the price you gotta pay for the car and if its still cheap then, then go for it!! Good Luck.

I thought both jap and UK were 280 bhp and only the US versions were 300bhp??? I could be wrong though.:confused:

Jay, you sure its the wheel bearing? I know you said you had a sticky calliper, this would cause a bit of noise if hot.

Dont think a zed will go through an IMO/ ARC carwash, as these are conveyor carwashes as opposed to a normal drive in one, i think the bottom of the car will grind getting on and off the conveyor. Carwashes in general do knacker paint as its like whacking the dirt off mith a plastic brush, having said that if your cars got a good layer of polish on it the odd carwash shouldnt be the death of it for when youre being particularly idle!!!

And this???:confused: the jap imports come with plastic headlight lens whilst the UK car has glass my plastic seems just like glass!!!

looking at another one on there, a few question, 1 What bumper is this? 2 and is this all this true????:confused: I have recieved a few emails asking various information about the car. starting, _____________________________________________ THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN AN IMPORT AND UK CAR, a uk car comes with full specification, including all the electrics, leathers (optional on jap car, so most have cloth interior). the jap import twin turbo had the same brakes as the uk non-turbo. this is due to all jap cars being restricted to 110mhp to comply with japanese laws. As the cars in uk are restricted to 155mph you get better brakes. jap cars also come with H speed rated tyres unless aftermarket. most uk high power cars have Z speed rated tyres. the jap use smaller ceramic turbos which spool up faster. Its off to zedworld in the morning for emergency brake surgery. Why the hell dont i leave things alone!!! I'll be taking a very slw drive over there in the morning, anyone who thinks zed brakes are crap ought to try disconecting one of them and feel how well it brakes on 3 wheels!!!!! Plus in an auto it makes it even more scary!!!!

27 !!! My zed WILL be there, jeff is very kindly going to do emergency surgery on my poorly brakes so if all goes well im there. All WILL go well I WILL be there!!!

Luckily, the mighty macca has come to my aid and theres a good chance my car will now make it to billing. Might not throw him in the lake at billing now after all!!!:D ;)

Fixed the bugger!!!!!! Was just about to give up and drive it to the garage in the morning on one brake, when bingo, sucsess!!! Now all ive got to do tommorrow is bleed the brakes and im up and running! Oh and ive also got to wash and polish her as i promised her i would if shed go back together for me!!!! Funny thing these cars, just when your about to set light to it and go and buy a metro, they come good!!!! Thought id fix my squeaky brake today before billing next weekend, thing is when putting calliper back on i managed to kill the thread on the brake hose, so now ive got to change that, but to add to my problems, i tried to take the hose off and managed to round the nut off, so now i need to know where this pipe goes once it dissapears behind the wing (arrow in pic), and also any tips on how to free a very round bolt would be good. Cheers:( 6 days to billing, and im worried at the rate i work it will never be done!!! Also, if anyones got a brake hose lying about, they want to flog so i can fit it Sunday (nelsons closed:mad: ) i'd be greatful

Ev, i feel for you pal, believe me i know how you feel, mine got to go to pps some time in the near future, due to some little tit doing the same to mine, see pic.:( Only good news is i heard the scrote who did it has been in a car accident the other day, sadly he survived, but at least its a bit of poetic justice. Hope who ever did yours suffers a similar fate. All the best.

Emero, have you got anything else attached to the stereo cage, ie relay for foglights, something to do with the alarm etc?? as it could be something like that playing up thus upsetting the stereo. Also is the stereo earthed to the car body ok? Good Luck
