UK 260z - M1 Dublin Airport
Saw an immaculate 260z on the motorway, would nearly change my mind as to which Z I want! Found it online easily enough, beautiful car. Driver was nice enough to make me jealous from every angle :)

For those looking for a Zed
This one looks promising, although that may be a hint of rust on the read sill: http://www.gumtree.com/p/nissan/1993-nissan-300zx-twin-turbo-targa/1105442131

For those looking for a Zed
Perhaps, but the feedback for this dealer on Google is pretty poor anyway... Mentions of great looking ads for cars/bikes which turn out to be shite.

For those looking for a Zed
The white one I had plans to view until I was informed that the seller is a known criminal. Shame - looks well. The NA one has been for sale for as long as I can remember, so there must be something wrong with it. Started out about €5,000.

Auto to manual
I got some feedback on this recently: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?180403-Manual-conversion-cost

Manual conversion cost
Alright, definitely sounds like it could be worth it. Is it a particularly difficult job? Looks cramped under there!

Manual conversion cost
Can anyone that has recently done a transmission conversion give me an estimate of how much it costs? I'm wondering if it would be worth buying a clean automatic for the right price. Also, would I have trouble getting the parts (presumably shipped from UK)? Cheers

Current availability of Z32s
Mostly around €3,000 or less, €5,000 for some of the better ones. A good rx7 will get twice that so tax is probably a big factor.

Current availability of Z32s
The situation is much worse in Ireland. Every time I've seen an ad for a decent manual TT pop up, it's sold in about three hours.

Manual twin turbo in Ireland/NI
As previously mentioned I plan to import from Japan, but no harm putting an ad out. I'm looking for a manual, twin turbo 300zx in excellent condition and unmolested. Budget will be decent but only for the right car. My ideal car would be a 1995 LWB twin turbo, manual, in pearl white and with low mileage. Cheers.

Did he fit a draining board to the rear? :\

Import advice
Yeah, that doesn't sound like a big deal. I do like the revised styling of the later ones (except the round tail lights!), but on the other hand I'll be able to get a classic policy in a couple of years - or at least named on one - so from that perspective I don't think it's worth going later than '97, but the VVT had me wondering whether I should set the limit at '96.

Import advice
Cheers. How much of a difference does VVT make to performance and fuel consumption? Questioning whether '97 would be worth it.

Import advice
That's true, but the company I've been considering, which is local to me, also those services. They also provide auction sheet translation, so I'm sure translation of the history could be arranged.

Import advice
The thing is... in the past year I've seen maybe three in Ireland or England that I would consider buying. In that space of time, I've seen a handful of ones at auction in Japan that looked even better. I know I'll have to pay a bit more due to fees and taxes, but the value of the car itself just doesn't compare.

Import advice
To clarify the GCZ32 is the LWB twin turbo - maybe this is only the JDM chassis number. I'm looking for something unmodified and as near as possible to showroom condition. Was quoted €10k recently for one that sold at auction, 1989 with less than 5k on the clock. That includes all costs except VRT which is about €950. Of course I expect to pay less; this is more the maximum.

Import advice
Hi all, I'm planning to import a GCZ32 from Japan in a few months, and am looking for general advice. The car will be manual, and ideally a '94-'96 with low mileage in pearl white. My budget will stretch to about €10,000 so I'm really looking for the right one. So mainly around the following areas: Significant differences between JDM and Irish/UK models (mainly mechanical and anything that could cause registration/NCT problems) Any concerns with getting the car on the road (in Ireland) Things to do before getting the car on the road (underseal and timing belt will be definite). Security recommendations? How supportive can I expect Nissan Ireland (or UK if it comes to it) to be in terms of parts and possibly servicing? I guess any suggestions for insurance would also help as I'm not expecting it to be easy at 22. Cheers, look forward to joining your community.
