At last, after 4 weeks sitting in the air the Z is back on my driveway!! New gearbox and torque converter fitted under warranty, and it drives like a dream. Had to take the car out and give it some stick tofay, I've missed it so much, been driving a 1.4 206 around all month!

thats what I thought! The same thing is for sale further down the pae for about £800 iirc (from an english seller though) does it sound about right to be getting something this cheap from the continent? sounds far too good to be true.

yep, sounds exactly like what happened to mine. Mine is currently being repaired (under warranty, thank fook). Although they did say that they couldn't find anything wrong with the box or torque converter when the took it all apart. Theyre still putting a new box and converter on it tho.....

I use mine as a daily driver (when it's not being fixed, been 3 bloody weeks now!!!) and I've found it to be surprisingly economical. I used to drive from bournemouth to ashford in kent and back every weekend and it would only use just over half a tank from full.

that's a good point! Might be worth just getting hold of the car and breaking it I guess! At least that way I could check th condition of the tubs and go from there..... Once again the forum the helps the blind to see!

ok guys and gals here's the score. A bloke my dad works with has got an import TT auto sat on his drive with a knackered engine. Dont know the complete ins and outs of the engine problem but I do know it's mechanical and I know it's not anything on the turbo side of things. So, the question is, what would be required to turn my N/A into a TT using this car as a donor? The rest of the car would be broken and sold off to help fund any new parts that may be required, but all I need to know from the 'Font of infinite Z knowledge' is what do I need? (apart from having my head looked at....)
