1. That's great stuff mate, sounds like a good day out :D Soon as the V8's finished and bedded in you can count me in!
2. If i had the time or the space to do it i'd pull the engine with you mate, so gutted you're actually going to sell her :(
3. Thing is how many rotten through LWB shells are there in this club and how many peeps with these shells have the car off the road because it's been in a smash/without mot. It's summer, loads of time to do a swap and whoever did end up with it would have a totally 100% solid car. I'd have it myself for the V8 conversion is it wasn't for the fact i had a solid swb shell fully trimmed out :(
4. Oh come on you lot, anyone with a damaged/rotten shell could have an absolutely mint, solid car for a bargain price. Why waste all this time welding in patches in your crappy shell. ffs this is really winding me up now this perfectly mint shell is going to be chopped for metal  :(
5. Oh crap dave, that's really bad news :( I really hope you find a way to sort this out, was always good to see you and eliza at the meets and would be a terrible shame if you parted ways like this
6. Yep, a white one for £1495 http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=126475&highlight=slicktop
7. Wasn't there a nice SWB slicktop for £1495 in another thread? The 3.5i Tasmin WAS relatively cheap and there were loads about until the sun came out now they've gone up by a grand and they've all sold. Rudy who's helping me with the V8 build has just picked one up in cherry red metallic for £2000. It needed the door refitting and a bit of work on the rear arch but it's a stonker of a good deal for a V8
8. Check your rad level. If it's empty then you've boiled dry Take the top hose off the radiator and check for a crack, they always go in the same spot on na/tt rads. If that's alright then fill the whole system up, run the engine with the heater on to get the water through the whole system. It'll take alot to fill it. When it settles check for the water swirling in the raditor. If there's no current you may have a worn out thermostat that's jammed. Easiest way to test is to put the cap on, run the car up to temperature and put your hand on the raditor. It should be warm to the touch not cold. Same goes for the second (lower) pipe on the front. If that's cold the thermostat hasn't opened and you're running all the heat at the top of the block. I had that happen twice on the na in the last few weeks unfortunately the build up of pressure blew the rear water pipe to pieces and it was a plenum out job to get to it. Hopefully the steam at the front indicates the radiator. Hope that helps mate and it's a quick 5 minute job to get that hose off the rad.
9. Sounds like the top radiator hose pipe mate, they fracture off the radiator and you get a whoosh of steam. Had it on all 3 off my zeds at one point or another :(
10. Great news mate, keep us posted and good luck :D
11. Oooh i feel a challenge coming on lol Great results mate, you don't waste any time do you?
12. The name rings a bell, i'll havr to ask him when i speak to him next time. It looks like he's only just finished it, there's still filler dust all over the engine
13. I can't wait to race him at the pod
14. I have to say i was very suprised to see some really good ideas, especially those lights with the clear covers. Subtle work and very curvy and smooth. Hopefully he'll pop up on here sooner or later to take credit for a job well done :D It's given me a few ideas for mine next year ;)
15. I went for a meet up with the guys i used to work with at Barclays last night and Tariq turned up. I didn't realise but he's now got a 300zx which he's spent some serious money on. He didn't realise i was on here but he's been on the forum before, come on mate step forward and take credit :D Had to go and have a quick look in the car park before he went home and i have to say he's done a corking job (now hoover out that engine bay and clean out the steam from your light! lol): Those seats were gorgeous, recovered but perforated centre sections really brought them up to date Love those lights, chromed and and clear covers! Custom bumper: Repeaters removed and indicators on the side mirrors
16. You lucky lucky git   Sounds absolutely amazing mate, i have to say it's videos like that that make me want to work flat out to get mine on the road. Admittedly it won't be anything near that in sound lol So that's at 7500RPM then? It's already starting to sound like a ferrari, so at 9k i hate to think what reaction that's going to get in the trouser department  How much petrol have you got through so far?
17. Nonono, mine's a gunmetal grey shorty. Keith's is a black LWB, having seen it in the flesh I have to say it's the most gorgeous, straight genuine shell i've seen. I've been trying to get my dad to agree to have it but he's having none of it
18. how awesome is this!
19. lol, it depends on the fact my compressor's died, the place i was going to be working is now looking very unlikely and i still haven't got an engine hoist and even if i did where the car is without being transported i don't know if it'll be possible to use an engine hoist on the gravel driveway :( Fingers crossed i'll pull it out the bag!
20. Oh that is truly lovely :D
21. Cheers lads, day two complete and dry build complete. I'll pop the pictures up in a sec :D
22. Cheers guys, the only setback i have is that i'm missing a spirolock in one of the pistons. I damaged it and real steel don't stock them. The only dealer of these pistons is in yorkshire so tuesday i'll find out if they have them in stock or not and that could halt the whole build but fingers crossed everything should go okay. £40 in petrol to drive up to yorkshire and back for a £2.50 part :headvswal Just reading and watching videos mainly, the engine is suprisingly simple to build it's a bit like mechano. The pistons go together quite easily, the blocks a good one so plenty of meat on it then it's just been a case of carrying on from there. The hard part is going to be the fitting of the gearbox as the engine goes in (probably thursday/friday) Hopefully i've kept 2 days free for "emergencies" lol I'll be off outside cleaning the block in a minute. I'll post up some piccies later guys :D
23. He's done a few but here's his latest  http://channelbee.com/move/gags#2631
