  1. Noo mate you read too much into stuff lol :D If i ask him nicely he might charge me 80 quid :D
  2. nononono 1 and a half hours PER rim so 80 quid for 6 hours work!
  3. Well after a year of trying to do a bit here and there on the rims and 8 grueling hours to take all 100 seized bolts out the wheels i decided to have the rims polished professionally. The guy who did them is called Paul Sankey and works in Burton upon Trent in Staffordshire. Top top guy, really friendly and very cheap, £20 a rim To remove all the pitting, scuff marks and my shit attempts at getting rid of the pitting took him an hour and a half to get this finish when i was working on them for HOURS and HOURS!!!! :D They're awesome! The centres are going in for polishing in 4 weeks time when he has them booked in around his contracting work for £40 each (they're a tough job with the paint still on them) I'll bring one with me to the midlands meet tomorrow if anyone's interested in seeing his work
  4. Check out my thread entitled, "Wheel rims done, centres to go..." in about 5 mins
  5. My mate Sarah's car is practically crawling, it's a 2003 plate alfa 147 2.0 twinspark selespeed with the 18" cloverleaf wheels and the lusso black leather pack in ferrari red. Its a beauty but you step inside and think what the fook have you been doing woman, fag ash all over the centre console and carpet, cds all over the floor, hairbrushes, paper, you name it it's in there! Makes me want to cry  Mine's a fookin tip at the moment basically cause i know the interior's being ripped out soon and replaced from scratch. Still feel ashamed   Currently mine has about 30 receipts on the floor while i was looking for the free car wash voucher today, the floor mats are practically grey and the leather on the left hand side is covered in blue and white paint from the gas canister i had to go and pick up to heat my room. Think i need to sort it tomorrow morning before the meet.
  6. Excellent stuff, looking forward to this meet. Might even have the roof off if it's sunny :D (yes i am insane!) :D
  7. Hello matey, Always good to see a new member. So where are you based? Little tip if you're looking for a first zed, insurancewise you'll pay twice as much for a jap import zed in insurance as a uk version so although they're a bit more to buy in the first place in the long run you'll save a packet. Have a look in the for sale section and there's a few in there. Cheers bud, Nick
  8. Oh god, is this thread still going, can't we just delete this one too and forget it ever happened? lol

  10. I SO wanted one of these when you put up the suggestion of a Group Buy on one :( Wish everyone else had gone for it :(
  11. It was a big load of shite basically matey, not worth bothering trying to find out
  12. pmsl  Yeah i bet he does
  13. A guy in Burton on trent and about 80 quid hopefully ;) lol
  14. Just tried to take some piccys of this one but the bulb life is so short i only got a few shots but i'll post them up when i can find the cable
  15. One of mine was bent back on itself but had it rebent back into shape through a guy near birmingham for 30 quid. Just having all four rims repolished for 20 quid a wheel
  16. Unfortunately i haven't got the composite leads for the xbox yet, i'm going to try tversity on he xbox 360 though and see if it streams at full 720p I'll get my new replacement tv tomorrow so i'll try it then matey :D
  17. *cough cough* Already there matey, xbox crystal, de shielded and 120gig hard drive installed :D
  18. just downloading them from mininova.org through bitorrent (azureus) keyword to use is "720p", although there's not a huge amount to get yet Mainly film and tv shows
  19. i'm just downloading all the bbc wildlife documentries, sin city etc (I DO OWN THEM IN STANDARD DVD BY THE WAY) :D I'll bring what i have on dvd for you matey I'm picking my replacement tv up tomorrow so i finally get to watch hd properly again and not just for 5 mins till the bulb overheats :D
  20. exactly, alot of wasted money i think this blueray malarky, plus the layer is thinner leading to the tiniest scratch will wipe out 4 gigs worth of data.
  21. Still costs a fair bit though, blueray players are a grand right now 360 + HD player is by far the cheapest: £199 for 360 and £129.99 for the drive with a free copy of king kong hd By using a codec they could save investing in new technology and just use the present disc format
  22. Finally finished downloading an hd rip of terminator 3 into divx format weighing in at 3.98 gig, just big enough for a normal dvd. The picture quality is fantastic and easily as good as blueray/hd-dvd Another format is H264 format on the mac, excellent picture quality and a small footprint. So my gripe here is why should you bother buying a new super expensive player when they could just use divx/h264 codecs to compress the hdtv signal into a file format that will fit into a normal dvd and just uprate the chips to decompress the files in realtime? I might be buying the hd-dvd format addon drive for the xbox 360 (£129.99) next week so i'll see if it's any better than the compressed movies but i doubt it
  23. pmsl  genius stuff there :D
  24. I'm sure you'll be fine matey :D Glad they didn't find anything apparent today
