  1. pmsl  trust you you lucky sod, 8 days to go till i'm in the clear  *PRAYS HEAVILY*
  2. I don't really care with the stock rims as i was going to strip and restore them anyway when the new wheels go on :D I used to spend ages using wonderwheels etc on them with a toothbrush :D
  3. The problem being if it were the other way around that the wheel bore was 6mm too large i cut just get some liners bonded in. Because they're a smaller bore than needed, spacers with lips wouldn't solve the problem as the spacer would have to be so thick to accomodate the larger hub lip then machine another smaller lip on top you're talking about a 5-10mm spacer. I haven't tried the wheels on the rear of the car with tyres yet to see just how big the spacer would have to be or if i actually need one. £100 quid to bore out the centres is a large expense if i'm still going to have to buy spacers as well just to fit them at 80 quid a pair It's the chicken or the egg question, can't assemble the wheels till the centre is bored out if it's needed to be and can't try them out for fit until the wheels are assembled :( :headvswal
  4. Right at this moment in time i'm poised on completing my wheels, The rims are polished and the centres are being polished mid february. The wheels themselves are from a supra so have a centre bore of 60mm, the zed being 66.10mm I will probably end up having to fit spacers, now here's the question: The centre of the hubs on a zed have the inner bore locator that comes up by 3-5mm and locks into the centre of the wheel to stop it from moving about. If i fit spacers surely this won't locate any more so is there any point in having the centres bored out to 66mm if a spacer would bypass this anyway as they're just plates with no locator. Is it necessary to have some made or just get the flat plate ones that i know slick pete has in his garage and bolt them on?
  5. I just gave it up full stop, it makes me ill so no point in doing it really and its a waste of money
  6. pmsl  awesome ain't it?
  7. It's a sad state of affairs it really is, as Si says because there's nothing in it for them the UK/US etc don't bother to try and sort it out
  8. lol, i can't be arsed cleaning my alloys so i just dumped mr muscle oven cleaner on to get off the brake dust crap as i know i'll have me wheels soon. After 4/5 applications it's eaten through the brake dust and laquer and paint  Needless to say when i get the new wheels i'll be stripping the old ones down and give them a respray before i sell them on.
  9. Christ that's nasty, looks like it's been vandelised :hurl:
  10. Well that's the point i'm trying to get across, to her those insults were normal and possibly terms her family throw around because they don't know any asian people but she obviously had no idea that in the normal world you don't say things like "shilpa poppadom" as harmless as she made it out to be. Watching her "patching stuff up" on the bench was painful to watch you could feel the embaressment oozing out :D
  11. I think the end of the day she's an uncultured girl who hasn't got any relative experience with asian people and probably didn't know what to expect. I know that different generations grow up with varying knowledge of other cultures and i myself didn't meet any asian guys/gals till i went to De Montfort Uni in Leicester and it was a bit of a cultureshock but i got used to it and have some great mates from all sorts of different cultures. Jade was thrown into an enclosed house with an asian lady who she didn't hit it off with and unfortunately with all of the girls there ganging up on her the fact she was from india gave them some "racist" ammo to throw at her. A couple of comments were particularly bad but i don't think they had the brainpower to realise what they were saying would have such a bad reaction. I hope they all realise and learn from this what NOT to do on a national tv program but at the end of the day i can't blame them for they way they are if they didn't have alot of experience with people of an asian culture before and all they had was the standard racist stereotypes passed down to them by their families and friends.
