I've heard to stick away from pre 2003 models as they're very unreliable. Going to do a bit of research then go down the car auctions to try and get a good value one :D

It's the 130bhp we're after or the ST TDCI version which is 150bhp. Eitherway with the torque it should be a stonker on the motorways :D

hehe, well i didn't really think about it too much till today when i nearly bought a scorpio estate for my dad while i was out, we rushed out to look at it but it sold 5 mins after i left it :( Had a bit of a chat and he can't afford a decent low mileage car by himself, i can't or my bro so between the three we can each chuck a grand or two in and buy a minter :) British Car Auctions (5 miles away) here we come! :) I didn't want to chuck the zed, would have broken my heart not finishing it and i may have found a way to get it sorted out cheaply albeit with a load of hours thrown in.

...you haven't got rid of me that easily :tongue: :hyper: I've had a chat with my dad and brother and we're going to pool our money together into one decent lowish mileage estate car :D Primarily it's going to be a 2003 Mondeo 2.0 130bhp TDCI GHIA Estate 50mpg+, 6 gears, comfy and reasonably quick and big enough to lug the rubbish in the back of, tow a caravan and do all the long distance driving in. £478 fully comp with him and my bro on the insurance. Which means i can keep the zed as a weekend car on classic insurance, it's having the suspension set up properly next week and i have a couple of spare 235 tyres that can go on in the meantime to keep it going till i get the polished ones sorted out. So you ain't got rid of me yet :D Now all i need is to find a decent 60-70ker with tax and test on it in the next few weeks....

Ideally if i end up i can take zed off the road for a few days and a spare bumper i'll have a go making up a concept. Think it's important the edge of the centre section goes inline with the edge of the lights and the snout isn't too low or long. I know a fibreglass worker so he says he can take moulds and build anything i give him including the grp replacements for the trim strips and the scuttle trim under the windscreen i was planning to make up this summer. I'll keep you updated :D

It's done in photoshop, bit of a headbanger to get it to work though, still not perfect. I'd have to do it by hand to get the proportions right. SINGLE COLOUR

Wet every time, gilette mac 3 turbo and turbo gel for tough beards and have a shower before to soften the bristles :D
