  3. From one Nick to another - have a brill day buddy :hyper:
  4. I'm trying to think off the top of my head what's in there, i thought it was only one panel. Is yours in two sections, one either side?
  5. K&N do a good panel filter replacement Si, i've heard good things about them
  6. I'm in and made my votes :D
  7. I've dreamt a couple of times that i'd crashed the zed or it'd been stolen. Horrible dreams lol I don't have to worry now about the car being stolen, I don't just live in the middle of nowhere i live round the back of a house that's the middle of nowhere :D
  8. Looks awesome buddy, bet you can't wait till it dries out :D
  9. You shouldn't need to do that matey, as groover says, use a 9v battery on it. It's usually something simple like a fuse. Do these checks: Check your amp is powering up, not just a standby light but also the remote light should come on when the stereo comes on (eg positive and semi positive/memory). If it doesn't it could be the built in fuse on the amp. If the lights dion't come on it's a fuse on the car that's gone and the stereo won't come on but sounds like it wouldn't be this. Next check your connections are correct, usually you have to bridge the amp to get it to run a sub so check your wiring diagrams. Also check the switches to make sure it's set to run an amp (usually a low pass switch/sub switch etc) After that check the sub itself works using the battery method like groover says, works a treat and should make a movement when you connect the terminals If it doesn't move with a brand new battery THEN your sub is screwed, i wouldn't waste your money till you're 100% sure buddy Hope that helps!
  10. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=118959 :hyper: Best thread of the month :D
  11. As far as i remember discussing it rudi we'll be using a solid roller tappet and a mild/fast road cam. This is going to be my day to day car in the summer so i don't want it too mad for the public roads but the solid lifters mean it can rev higher as far as i remember as the hydraulic one rob the top end
  12. I think what you've done is inadvertently created the best 300zx ever matey  lol Just don't walk away too far at the shows in case someone nicks it :D
  13. You'll need a monster of a pc to run it tbh honest dude, stick to the console version if you have one plus the controls aren't supposed to be very good on the pc version according to a mate of mine
  14. The thing i find so great is everyone's done it in their own way not just in a standard way, you running individual throttle bodies, some trick tuning and cams, mine's going to be old school american muscle under the bonnet and friday's is going to be different again in probably a more refined but gutsy engine. Can't wait to see how they all compare out on the road. Interesting thing about my project is Rudi took the time to drop the steering rack down by 2 inches and sit the engine under the standard bonnet even with the carb so it should have a really nice low centre of gravity. I know yours is the same with the vq well back from the wheels and with the dry sump conversion. I'll have to have a chat with you about how you're sorting out the handling on yours
  15. Does sound awesome, so so awesome :hyper: So how many v8 z32's will there be by the end of next year then? John's and mine'll be finished. What's the status with Friday's? Are there any others?
  16. I'm going for a holly carb rather than injection so I can keep tweaking all the time LOL Nah just a set of ohlins on the back to tweak the suspension slightly for dragging and stiffen for the road so maybe a little bit better than yours off the line but not much better lol
  17. It's Rudi Oliver's project car, i'll be working alongside him to finish it off alongside Mike Feeney from MJP to help tune it/advise on setup but it's pretty much complete, just cams, heads and rockers to choose alongside the carb. Should be a 6.3 by the time it's finished, 450 - 500bhp and a shed load of torque. It'll be a lazy V8 not a buzzy racer like yours though so i would think you'd just have the edge. The sound of V8 powered Z32's at the Pod is on the way :D hehe
  18. I can't wait to see that in the flesh :hyper: Are you running in the zed club drag challenge next year? If so i think i may have just found a competitor - if i finish it in time ;)
