  1. It should be about 9.4:1 as far as I remember Rudy saying he'd worked it out as. Trying to keep the compression low enough to run it with standard ron petrol instead of race fuel. Everything is forged including the valves to make sure later on if i run nitrous/turbos/blower it should take it. Looking at a 750CFM Holley Double Pumper with mechanical secondary and manual choke and a Mallary HyFire Double Spark Ignition System (a bit more than a standard dissy but gives better performance and tuning). I have a fuel injection distributor on the car already but the whole engine management setup would be about the £1500 for the inlet manifold, wires, plugs, ecu etc :( I'm going to do some track days this year, i've got 2 sessions pre booked at japfest already if i can get the car finished in time!
  2. If the V8 is finished in time: (01) Ceejay (02) Shel ZX (03) Luke (04) Croeso (05) Bantambunny
  3. It's horrible but interesting and entertaining to watch :D
  4. I don't think i've ever been as sad as when that was taken from us
  5. fpmsl  Just reread that first post now - whoops! :slap: I'll be bringing the V8 along for that one then :D
  6. Good man, I have a feeling yours is going have a lot more power top end. With the solid roller rockers and roller cam it should give mine punch up top but your's will rev alot higher. I have a feeling mine'll have a bit more guts from idle but being a modern engine yours shouldn't be that far behind even with a smaller displacement. Can't wait to fill santa pod with the sound of raw unadulterated V8 power :hyper:
  7. fpmsl  he did have something slightly wrong with him, no idea what though lol
  8. I might be able to make this, the zed's coming off the road this weekend to break for parts so i'll shine her up one last time and come along  EDIT: DOH! :slap:
  9. I would but the only problem being is the zed is coming off the road this weekend to break for parts  If I do get time i'll pop over in the mini though
  10. 2003 my boss was looking at one but settled on a vx220. I was driving back from a mates in leicester in 2005 when i saw the black na lwb i had. Fell in love with it, metalic black, black leather and targas. Took it for a test drive and i was smitten the first day, 25 degrees, roof off driving back with the sun setting in the distance. One day i'll always remember, i'm now onto my fourth and hopefully the best! :hyper:
  11. Well that's the other argument, as I say we're privileged to be able to eat the meats we do. Given the choice of starving we'd probably eat anything :D ...although i still don't think i could eat crab - yuk!
  12. Tell me about it :headvswal lol Well hopefully the both of us will be finished by the summer so when they're both done we'll have to swap cars and see what the differences are if you're up for that? :D
  13. Kangaroo and Crocodile are quite nice although i find croc a bit fatty
  14. Ah you'll get it sorted, just a problem with you working away from home all the time buddy. The V8 is looking further and further away for me but that's money holding me back not time :(
  15. Jesus did anyone watch this? Interesting documentary but truly troubling to watch especially in Vietnam when they were watching the dogs being transported and butchered. Very distressing as a dog and cat lover but as the program points out every country grows up with different things viewed as food. We're very privileged not to have to eat beetles, cats, dogs, elephant. The worst however was when they visited a group eating monkey which when they're skinned look just like human babies, horrible horrible program but as I say very enlightening. Question is would you eat any of the above?
  16. I ran mine for a good 6 months before i replaced it and it was fine so no serious rush
  17. It could be the propshaft bearing, same thing happened on my NA Auto it's on acceleration it would give a low thrum around 2500rpm http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21_91&products_id=171
  18. Ahh, must admit i'm tempted by old school golf and i've always wanted a beetle/camper :D That furniture looks awesome, do you have a studio?
  19. I've seen a few two tone zeds now and as lovely as they are that pulled it off perfectly, subtle but unique so i would feel proud buddy :D What have you got now?
  20. It was a gorgeous car, my favourite of all time buddy :) fpmsl
  21. Welcome to the club buddy, very nice looking car :D
  22. That is absolutely stunning!
