I think you'll find there's a lock/unlock button on the auto box that locks the torque convertor and the gearbox sticks in 3rd gear. When you switch overdrive back on it drops back to 4th (3rd with overdrive) It's good for short thrashes out in the country because you get engine braking. "Hold" holds the gear longer and stops the gearbox from kicking down so easily

If i have the money for them after all these expensive engine bits i'll probably buy some :D lol

A friend of mine went through exactly the same thing and had to sell the car he loved. It left him truly gutted. So sorry to hear it mate but at least your son is okay, it could have been alot worse

Well my new one has everything painted white in there and tbh i think i'm going to be taking them back to standard black, maybe a highly glossy black instead with lots of laquer and replace the door handles with the chrome ones that si was on about

I was thinking when I looked at the front, that's a lovely looking stock zed, I wonder if it still has the pea shooter exhausts on the back... whoooooaaaa! :D hehe Those exhausts have got to be pretty loud! Lovely looking example of a stock zed though buddy :D

I picture myself having a zed for the rest of my life in one form or another. I've owned 3 so far and this is my fourth and tbh i've only ever changed to move onto a better zed, this 6.3 v8 should last me for as long as i want a zed, newly built engine and gearbox, no rust, fresh interior and every part is new so the only thing i'll do is work on something special for the bodywork

I know it's a silly question but try putting in another £5 from a jerry can just to be sure you're not out of fuel. The gauges are occasionally wrong
